Why bother putting a kill tracker in the masterwork? It's not like it's going to matter. Once a weapon is sunset, we'll never use it again until you recycle it anyway.

Because like so many other things, they don't really think things through and/or historically have not had a cohesive long-term plan for D2.
-
You get 9 months to use a weapon. You know how many kills you get in 9 months??? stop crying about sunsetting its tiring.
-
I like the kill tracker, but I don’t like that you basically have to start it over if you get the same weapon with the same roll but with a higher power cap. Maybe a universal kill tracker could be implemented on top of the system that we have.
-
Some people really can't get over it.
-
Constantly? This is the first time it's happened in d2. It happened once in d1. Look for something else to complain about
-
Yeah I hate sun setting! I wish the game file would keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger until it explodes
-
They're sunset 3 seasons after they're introduced. Sunsetting isn't removing them: you can still use them in quickplay pvp for example, as well as any activity with a power requirement equal to or less than that weapons power. The kill tracker is there because sunsetting doesn't remove them, it just removes them from the endgame meta.

Just make it so when they do return, all our stored ones will be updated too.

Perhaps if its Masterworked, we will be allowed to reprise it without grinding for it again? At least that's what I'm hoping for. If not, no biggie.
-
And the weapons that do stay, ( Exotics ) don’t have a tracker unless they have a catalyst and some of them have catalysts that are currently unobtainable LOL

Sunset my weapons, sunset my...
*Spanish Inquisition*
MAKE DESTINY GREAT AGAIN... ...... ..... NOT.

I personally see kill tracking as a keepsake to go along with our weapon. If you are sentimental about a weapon or proud of your stats on it, you can keep it in your vault. You could pull it out every once in a while for Crucible or have some fun and try to use it after it has been sunset and see what you can do. And while yes, I think there could be an overall kill tracking system implemented, so we can look at our game history...I don't think it's a priority right now. For now, remember all the memories and fun you had with the weapon, slip it in your vault, and get excited for new ones.

Because when they introduced masterwork weapons, they had no idea that they would introduce Sunsetting one day. Same for when they introduced pinnacle/ritual weapons and their big amount of farm.
-
Instead of crying about it and demanding something else and calling it lazy, bring ideas up and other solutions to the table.

I always thought of having weapon attachments, each weapon can have a max of two attachments and instead of 10 materwork tiers, there's only 2 tiers, one for each attachment, and these attachments would give the same benefit of a tier 10 masterwork stat. So if you equip an extended barrell it would give you that plus 10 range or whatever it is. Or maybe do like modern warfare is doing and these attachments would give a bigger boost to a stat but there's also penalty to another stat, like the iron grip and iron gaze perks they just added, except there not random. And you could put really hard bountys to earn these at Ada so she stays relevant. and to make her stay relavent, the attachments can have a system that some of the zombie games have where the more you use it the less effective the attachment is, and you would have to go get consumables to repair the attachment. Destiny weapons are the main part of the game, and the weapon system should start evolving more and i think this would be a very cool way to doit.

I'll be honest. I didn't see a reason to masterwork anything before Sunsetting. Now I see even less. Unfortunately Destiny 2 already suffers from everything being pointless, unexciting, and worthless now we just gain another point into that.
-
TBH they are only sunset in pinnacle events anyway. They can still be used anywhere else in the game or for any activity that is a non pinnacle event. Not like it is never going to be used again. Only around 30% of Destiny 2 user do pinnacle events anyway. So the whole 30% of that group must be here whinging on the forums about sunsetting? ... LMFAO
-
I wonder if they would have sunsetting if MT and Recluse never existed. Seems like it's strictly for those weapons
-
i think the question should be what are we getting in return to replace the gear that is going away because my money is on some of that gear being re skinned to fill in the gaps sunsetting will leave behind
-
Remove kill tracker then Problem solved

Makes folks feel better about digital numbers . I'll masterwork whatever I mainly use in COMP or PvE for orbs. That's about it. Idc about sunsetting. Let it happen .
