Constantly?
This is the first time it's happened in d2.
It happened once in d1.
Look for something else to complain about
Constantly? This is the first time it's happened in d2. It happened once in d1. Look for something else to complain about
In case you didn't know... let me educate you on what constantly means. In season 12 all of season 1-8 gets sunsetted In season 13 all of season 9 gets sunsetted In season 14 all of season 10 gets sunsetted In season 15 all of season 11 gets sunsetted In season 16 all of season 12 gets sunsetted In season 17 all of season 13 gegs sunsetted In season 18 all of season 14 gets sunsetted In season 19 all of season 15 gets sunsetted In season 20 all of season 16 gets sunsetted Ect Ect Ect. Get it? Constantly getting sunsetted
-
Actually I believe that sunsetting more follows the definition of "periodically". And if I'm not mistaken, sunsetting is power level based, not timed based. So predicting seasons ahead is problematic. But don't let reality harsh your vibe.

Every season from 12 forward will sunset 1 full season of content... period Except for season 12 sunsets 8 seasons worth of content all at once
In season 12 all of season 1-8 gets sunsetted
And what was sunset before season 12? Let me help you..... Nothing! Do you understand? It's not "constantly" if this is the first time in 3 years. It's funny when simpletons try to be smart arses yet need things breaking down for them to the most basic level

Um, year 1 static rolls were sunsetted. Armor 1.0 was sunsetted in favor of armor 2.0 These were examples of sunsetting we wanted. What we are about to get, nobody asked for.
-
Year 1 static rolls were removed due to overwhelming feedback in the forum. Not every weapon was removed. The year 1 armour and weapons were not sunset, they were reworked. Also, the y1 weapons that were removed were vendor weapons, not pinnacles that people put time and effort in to grind for.
Also, the y1 weapons that were removed were vendor weapons, not pinnacles that people put time and effort in to grind for.
Maybe, yet that exact thing is happening in 3 weeks

It happened more than once in D1, it will be an annual thing going forward. Although so far, they aren't doing exotics like in D1 but they probably will at some point.
-
Not annual, seasonal In season 12 all of season 1-8 gets sunsetted In season 13 all of season 9 gets sunsetted In season 14 all of season 10 gets sunsetted In season 15 all of season 11 gets sunsetted In season 16 all of season 12 gets sunsetted In season 17 all of season 13 gegs sunsetted In season 18 all of season 14 gets sunsetted In season 19 all of season 15 gets sunsetted In season 20 all of season 16 gets sunsetted Ect Ect Ect.
-
I know each season will retire some weapons, this time next year though all the things from this season will sunset, basically any thing you get from this season, on weapon or armor gets retired in 12 months.
-
Yeah, people hated it in D1, too. How dare people criticize Bungie’s choices on a forum meant for feedback!
-
Criticism is fine. Stupidity is... well... stupid.
-
Edited by Zoradios: 10/23/2020 12:18:42 AMSimply asking about a kill tracker is stupid... on a forum meant to ask for feedback?

Happened twice is d1
-
It’s not the 1st time in d2 but I do think it’s good for the game
-
When they removed static rolls, that wasn't a sunset of weapons
-
And they never "removed" static rolls. They introduced a new weapons system. The weapons obtained under the old system still worked perfectly. In fact, some kinds of weapons still come with a single fixed perk set. People need to find some perspective. Death, taxes, and sunsetting.
-
Um, they asked a question. A legitimate question at that. What is the point of things like stat trackers, masterworking, etc, if weapons will in fact constantly be recycled. Even if only one weapon a season was "good", with the power cap, whatever you got last season, instantly becomes less desirable, and then the next season, and the season after that. Then you run into the current situation where half the loot in the game is pretty much pointless to chase. Until questions like the one above are answered, sun-setting remains a pretty stupid idea, with no actual benefit to the game or the player. Just like ridiculously high infusion cost. All it does is serve to make something that should be a core part of the game, meaningless.
-
Edited by fuhd79: 10/20/2020 12:09:20 PMIt may be a legitimate question but the circumstances have been exaggerated. Our weapons are not constantly being sunset, which was my actual point. I personally think there is zero point to kill trackers, its a video game ffs. You're not going to refer back to numbers and stats in 10 years time, they'll be completely irrelevant then so why make such a fuss now? I was quite annoyed when they took trackers off the emblems, i managed to get over it. You clearly haven't gotten over sunsetting yet.... it's about time you did.

They're going to sunset weapons annually now. So the weapons we're grinding for now will be sunset next September.

Time to stop now. Your allocated share of duplicated pixels has run out.
Time to stop now. Your allocated share of duplicated pixels has run out.
Actually we are about to get more duplicates than you ever seen before. Reskins Reprises Reissues Weapons with towels over the barrel
-
Of course there's no way for you to know that. But despite Bungie's explanation of why sunsetting will give them some room to actually create meaningful new gear, you proclaim your ascertion like it's truth. That's ok. Your lack of objectivity is being made clearer for all to see with every post.

Edited by NVMYGT: 10/23/2020 4:51:02 AMSay what you will... you know what I see so far? I see my curated Gnawing Hunger with subsistence and rampage with a 1060 Power cap and I see my new Gnawing Hunger with the exact same roll as I already have but with a 1360 power cap. I see my Curated Bad Omens with tracking and cluster bombs with a 1060 power cap but i also have a new Bad Omens with tracking and cluster bombs with a 1360 power cap. What is the point in sunsetting the ones i have just to reissue them with the exact same roll? This has nothing to do with power creep and is 100% redundant! Also we see the new pursuit sniper with a cloth on it to hide the jewels on Beloved and try to pass it as a new weapon but its quite literally Beloved with a towel on it. Bungie does not have the talent or the resources to sunset 400 weapons and give us more than maybe 10 all new never seen before weapons per season. Everything else will be a reskin or a reissue... mark my words.
