This is the cold truth of the state of pvp. I understand Bungie trying to make this game fun but when you start to remove the challenge it becomes less fun. Just because your team can design a great game doesent mean they have the competitive experience to balance that game. You need to be bringing in outside expertise from people who play at such a high skill level and experience to help you reign the game in.
There’s such great pvp feedback out there from great pvp players that would make the crucible so much better, but Bungie has this problem of thinking because the make the game that they know best. I’m sorry but I don’t think anyone at Bungie understands pvp in a competitively balanced level than people like Cammy or CoolGuy or TV. They play pvp for hours everyday at high levels, the people at Bungie only play pvp during their work hours let alone if they even play D2 at all.

We get it. It's the first time since D1 day 1 there wasn't some kind of HC meta and some players are crying hard. Been waiting for autos to come back since the Suros meta in D1. Be quiet and let people enjoy things. Soon, auto rifles will be nerfed and HC will almost certainly be brought back into the spotlight. I hope scouts and pulses are buffed too.
-
One of the telling lines is the video is when he states that autos were designed to be approachable for less skilled players . After you listen to it a couple times , it really seems as if he is saying that it’s okay to give the children something to keep them busy just don’t give them something that will kill me or I have to struggle against . Almost like providing the below average player the illusion of being able to compete while knowing full well that prior to the change , they would get close to killing you but ultimately you had a safety blanket with your hand cannon’s TTK time. Listen to it a couple times and tell me if it’s seems that way .
-
Any of those AR changes he suggests would create an instant hand cannon meta. That is obviously what he is angling for. The super upon kill suggestion is also stupid as it would create yet another steamroll mechanic for high skill players/teams. Less super kills?...nope. It would just shift more super kills to those getting more gun kills. I guess that would also suit him just fine.
-
He makes some good points, and some awful suggestions. Competitive and balanced doesnt necessarily equate to "fun". If it did, then MW2 wouldnt be arguably the most legendary entry in the CoD franchise, and D2 Vanilla wouldnt have been the lowest point of this franchise.
-
So Vanilla D2, we all know how well that went over. What a hypocrite.
-
Bungie did that once. It was called "vanilla Destiny 2"....and it nearly destroyed the franchise. The player base---including most PvP players----HATED it. Yet Cammy went down swinging about how much he felt that vanilla D2s version of PVP was the ideal form of FPS PvP. Even as player enagement across the game was plummeting....and Bungie was in a mad scramble to save the game and the company. Lesson? Streamers are not gamers....they are BUSINESS owners. Most of them use (abuse) their platforms to advocate for what in in the best interest of their BUSINESS. Not for what is in the interest of the game as a whole, or the wider community. So don't confuse what they want.....with what is in the interests of the game. Bungie made that mistake (twice), and it cost them DEARLY.
-
He makes good points. At this point, I'm not sure what meta I would like to see, but it ain't ARs.
-
He was dead on on what needs fixes in the current sand box. Won't fix everything, but it's a pretty damn good start.
-
He’s on the money

Edited by Guardian3564: 8/14/2020 3:48:05 AMI made a post about this too. I agree 100%. The problem is Bungie doesn’t want to make this game competitive for some reason. I don’t get it... I really don’t get it. It would draw in so many more players. The most popular multiplayer games are in that position because they’re competitive and skillful. Why would any studio not want to bring in more players to their game?
-
I don’t usually agree with TV, but he hit the nail on the head with that video.
-
Yeah tv is solid. Saw this video too.
-
REEE STREAMER BAD REEEE
-
Agreed. I can’t really talk I’ve been having fun with gnawing and suros but I won’t defend them, their ease of use is way too high. What TV said about lowering body shot damage and range I completely agree with. HC range nerf was a bit too much imo. I recently started using Thorn again and have been having fun in sweaty rumble lobbies. Man I missed HCs.
-
*Content creator gives good feedback that would help the game* Forum goers who hate streamers for no reason go brrrrrr
-
I feel like Handcannons can't be meta unless they make them extremely easy to use or Auto Rifles are toned down a bit. I really don't want Handcannons to be as easy as D1 Handcannons, but I'd still like a Handcannon meta
-
Whatever. Just another YouTuber who is to blame for how shitty D2 was at launch.
-
TLDR: Vanguard is salty about hand cannons being outplayed by Autorifles. noob
-
TV is an idiot
-
TV wants the hand cannon meta to return. Sorry, but it isn't going to happen anytime soon. We have also been through the chaining supers era, and that won't return soon either.

Edited by Kiro - 13: 8/15/2020 5:54:55 AMThe first things they need to address is server tick rates and anti cheat. then improve PvP. Having a consistent stable environment that has a extremely reduced chances for "bad actors" to prosper is far more important then minor tweeks. And for the record cammycakes is mediocre at pvp(at best), pve monster/god for sure though. Their much better peoples brains to pick on pvp. redpanda and frost fire I think are their names, good pvpers.

Edited by SINECURE53: 8/15/2020 9:44:42 PMI love TV man but he is popular for the higher skilled players so i expect a bunch of down votes on this forum. The lower skilled players can hardly compete while using 600 rpm ARs so why would they want that nerfed? I agree they need a nerf just to be clear but lower skilled players need their feel good guns too. Also special ammo is just too abundant in pvp right now. I would love it if you get 2 shotgun shots at every respawn but no body drops special ammo. This would make players actually use primaries. When i use my martyrs retribution i sone times have full ammo when i go on a 10 streak because of double scavs perk.

Does that YouTuber pay you for pushing his videos in the forum ? Think for yourself ..........
-
The dude talking about Gunskill but nothing he's displaying or entirely speaking of got anything to do with gunskill. He's using 2 special weapons a sidearm and a sniper, if you think sidearm is a primary weapon just because it contains primary ammo then u either ignorant or fell on your head when yuh momma was giving birth to you. On top of that saying that 600 auto takes no skill when again using sidearms which takes even less gunskill than 600 autos, I'll admit auto are strong and needs a nerf but only to their flinch factor cause they're in a good spot nerfing flinch will give HCs a chance and pulses. Regarding intellect mods, they need to only apply for PVE activities and be disable in PVP. Last but not least Montaintop, Arbalest and snipers needs a nerf they're the reason why this topic exist
-
>"Needs to be more gunskill" >makes several sidearm videos Yeah, sure... for sure, TV!
-
Yeah, no thanks. Bungie HAS already brought in those guys for in house chats.. did you see any impact? That and the last time Bungie went the "balanced" route or tried to enhance gunfights the game nearly died. That was vanilla D2 and the same exact ppl you are swooning over shit on it after 2 weeks or so.. that is why they did the "Go fast update" back when. The real issue is ppl take video games way too seriously.
