At this point, I'm not sure what meta I would like to see, but it ain't ARs.

Everyone said buff ARs and bungie does it now you don't want it. You can understand why bungie struggles when they get this type of feedback.

It's because Bungie overbuffed them, like they pretty much always do with at least one weapon type with every major balance pass.

They didn't though, they perform now as well as they should in my opinion. Scouts and pulse need buffs as do hand canons.

They (Autos) really don't. This really is a case where it'd be better to hammer down the outlier rather than trying to bring everything else up. 110 and 140 HCs need a buff, Scouts need a buff, 450 Pulses need a buff, 600 Autos need a nerf (not back to their pre-buff state, but somewhere in the middle). Everything else is more or less fine.

I really don't think EVERYONE wanted ARs. In fact, I remember people being bummed about it, callin it "easy mode." Personally I didn't care, back then, but NOW, I'm ready to move on.

Nah sorry, since launch ARs have struggled and every buff post mentioned them.

Sort of, duel primary loadouts were a huge mistake.

I like pulses a lot. They combine two different weapon skills into one. You have to pace your shots like a HC but also trace your target to make sure the full spread hits like an auto. They are the most skilled weapons in the game in my opinion.

Bygones wants a word. That gun is a laser and totally underapteciated in this meta.

540RPM Pulses have always had a very competitive TTK provided you can aim, it's just no one uses them because "haha Auto Rifle go brrrrr."

I have noticed constant damage causes pressure in gun duels and can make people miss their shots due to not having the composure in the situation.

For sure, but I would be worried we would see more team shooting. But hell, we have that already too.

The fix for team shooting is raising ttk.

Ehhh idk, we had that in vanilla d2 and it made team shooting even worse. I remember like first weekend of trials of the nine and it was like both full teams peek at the same time with Mida. I think autos with lower body shot damage and lower range would help pulses immensely without even tuning them. I think it’s just a range issue mostly right now. Autos competing in pulse space is the same argument when they nerfed pulses for competing in scout rifle space.

If Bungie took the time and adjusted hard damage falloff, the game would be better. Make people pay for using a screw driver to pound in a nail, so to speak

It would be virtually be a new game at that point. Recoil and damage fallout would definitely fill up the diapers in the Destiny community. lol
