Also Arc Warlocks in 3.0:
-Badass new teleport melee (that I will absolutely be abusing because it sounds fun)
-Triple Lightning Ball/double Chain Lightning when Amplified (i.e. after a few rapid kills, AKA simply existing in PvE)
-Overcharged Arc Soul (same requirement, simply exist in PvE and have a functioning trigger button)
-Guaranteed Ionic Trace generation/Amplification on debuff kill without having to spec into old middle tree
-Landfall and Ionic Blink rolled into base Stormtrance w/o having to spec into aspects
-Whatever new stuff we get w/ arc fragments
I don't know why you're all pretending that Stormcaller isn't getting cool new stuff. You either forgot to read the preview, don't know [i]how[/i] to read the preview, or are being deliberately ignorant/obstinate. Other classes are getting cool stuff too? Great! [i]This isn't a zero-sum game.[/i]
Personally, I think Arc 3.0 will finally give me a reason to dust off my old Warlock. I enjoyed middle tree Stormcaller back in Forsaken, but it fell behind with the other subclasses getting revamped. Now it's getting some much-needed love, so I'm looking forward to teleporting around more than a lagswitching Bladedancer in the D1 Supremacy playlist.
If you're really gonna complain about the buffs because they "aren't good enough" for you, then feel free to choke on them.

18 RepliesJust to hammer away at these but teleport could be cool but typically abilities like this are situational at best. New melees are cool but that requires a melee charge and so does the teleport you mentioned above so the synergy at cost value sounds non existent Arc souls have always been trash and are really only good at killing thralls Landfall and ionic is cool but no transcendence so the super is going to last as long as I do and let me tell you that is not a good thing. Also stormcaller as a super is only good at killing trash ads which we dont need supers for anymore so its a very low tier super. Ionic traces are cool but we already had those before but now these require arc weapon/ability kills which before they only required kills in general. I personally dont care which class is the best but when you take away transcendence and then pulsewave and then arc web and add very little in return to a class that is hardly used I dont know what you expected? And before you say "ArC WeB iS a FrAgMeNt" no arc web gave grenade arc chaining and grenade energy per chain that happened. Jolt simply just gives the grenade chaining so a nerf.

Can we simply wait till we even play with it before we cry that it isn't good enough. For all we know Warlock could pump out the most damage with what it does get and be the DPS king.

2 RepliesArc Multi-kills aren't even gonna be hard to get either to become Amped. Use a Dragonfly weapon and kill one guy, it'll kill 4 other dudes, suddenly you're amped.

As a warlock main, I am excited for arc 3.0. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t seen specific aspects of warlock identity being the only ones taken from them and distributed to all. Devour, ionic traces, etc. Why is that? Healing grenades, grenades as a strong ideation of play, etc. Why do warlocks have to share their identity more? Either it was because people were complaining too much about our superiority, or…Bungie truly doesn’t like us. Or something else, I don’t know. But we ain’t complaining for exactly no reason.

There are a minority of Warlocks that whine incessantly regardless of what happens. Warlock Persecution Complex is a real disorder.

1 ReplyThe problem I’m finding is that a lot of the power of the warlock kit is locked behind being Amped. Amped is going to be a lot harder to get in endgame PvE where arc multikills are a little harder to come by. Same with PvP. Meaning you need to nearly completely rely on Ionic Traces to get the job done. The new melee aspect sounds interesting but at the same time impractical. We’ll have to wait and see about it: the speed, distance, ease of maneuverability, end lag, damage, and radius are all hidden right now. It could either be something that very few people use in serious content (like consecration) or a viable build for non-master level content. Too much pessimism over something we haven’t seen in action yet (I was guilty of this myself earlier this week) but at the same time the recent track record for these things is against Bungie. Solar Warlock still isn’t in a great place compared to the other two (lol Daybreak still worthless in PvE…)

2 RepliesThe issue is that gamblers dodge melee frequency + combat flow lunge range + flash bang punch + blink + shutdown super is absolutely ridiculous, and will terrorize the crucible. I guarantee the pvp playtesters were sleeping on the job.

But they gave Arc Warlock the exact same treatment they gave solar titan - rebooted greatest hits + new sliding giant melee. Everyone stood in applause for titan, but seethes about Warlock? What? My brothers in christ you havent even used the kit.

Compared to the other classes for arc 3.0, warlocks are getting shafted.

Amped looks just like solar 3.0. Wonderful in useless content, useless in difficult content. I have a feeling I’m going to continue to stick to void, unless there is some artifact mod equivalent to classy restoration. As fun as some builds were with solar 3.0 season, I find it piss poor that most of the builds and options are only seasonal.
