What’s up with the disdain towards destiny 2?
I’m new to the forums here, and have only been playing destiny for about a year. Personally, I really enjoy it. Sure, after a while it gets quite boring, but I wait a couple months, come back and the enjoyments still there. However, I’ve seen a lot of threads on here with negative views towards the game and the company. Can someone explain why?

24 RepliesYou’ve been playing Destiny for 6 months, you’ve got 29 total hours logged, and you’ve never played a PvP match. I’m not one who thinks you need thousands of hours logged to form an opinion or criticize the game, but you sure as hell don’t get to come here and question why long time players are upset with the game with that little invested into it. Sorry.

Can someone explain why?[/quote] Because the official posts by Bungie indicate that they are dragging their feet when it comes to tackling the game's biggest problems. Especially when D1 does so many things right that D2 has lacked since launch. It's fair and good for customers to complain when a product is flawed. D2 has a LOT of flaws.

It frankly just the Destiny community. When it was just D1, the posts were still about how Bungie sucked, the game was awful, weapon X was OP AF and ruining the game...you get where I'm going with this. This forum isn't representative of the game, a majority of the community, or anything else. It's a few hundred people out of the hundreds of thousands that log in and play every day.

The [b]only[/b] superiority D2 has over D1 is in quality of life improvements and some additions like Gambit and Dreaming City, and other planets. Nothing more. You'd quickly realize that D1 has an identity and standards that are fixed and clear. D2 on the other hand, suffers from multiple identity disorder and is a sleazy, shameless money-grab.

Bungie can do it right, but they never seem to figure out what is best recently. At its core the gameplay is still good though, so newer players can enjoy the game for that as well, but for many veterans it’s just upsetting that’s its declining.

Maybe people are tired of doing the same thing over and over for blues? The core loop has grown stale and there's no loot incentive. Any and all decent cosmetics are locked behind paywalls in a game that already has multiple avenues of milking the players. They launched a much anticipated return to a game mode that is full of rehashed loot and tons of hackers and cheats. I can't for any reason see why players are showing disdain for the game...

14 RepliesIm not mocking you in any way when I say this, so pls dont take offence. You play a couple of story missions and patrols once in a while, on one character. I don't expect anyone with that level of investment to understand what is going on when we say that D2 in its current state is a garbage fire. It would take way too long to explain. I also dont expect anyone, not just you, to understand why we all still play this..because we ourselves don't understand it.

1 ReplyThe game has unrealized potential. Bungie has done nothing but drive into the ground. They had it right with destiny 1 and somehow they chose to throw all that away and create what we have now. A really bad game with no point in playing. Bounty simulator 3000. Just a really bad design. No loot in a loot driven game. No factions. Same vendor stock since God knows when. Horrific peer to peer networking. I could go on... But what's the point. If you can enjoy the game then by all means do so. I do not.

Destiny has been like a bad girlfriend for people who has been playing longer times. Myself, since the beginning of Destiny. To some of us, it's like your girlfriend (Destiny) cheats, and lies. You forgive her, then she does it again, and again, and again and again. That's why.

2 RepliesDon’t worry about all the complainers on these forums. This is what we call the toxic side of the Destiny community. They’ve been at this since Destiny 1 and unfortunately will never stop. No matter what Bungie does, they’ll keep whining. It’s best to just leave them alone, nobody can get through to them.

The reason you don't see the issues is cause you have only played a year, bungie are making mistake after mistake, -blam!- up after -blam!- up this is not a games dev team who are on there first year, this game has been going for 6 years now an they still can't manage to get things right an they are re adding content that didn't work an opening admitted it, but have added it back in the same state it was removed expecting it to work 2 years later.

Most of us have been playing destiny for almost 6 years and bungie still cant find out what they want to do with the game or fail to make on their promises. Bungie always gets credit where its due and somehow they manage to piss people off because they want to fix whats not broken. Everyone is so fed up with destiny that anything bungie does right now is being highly criticized, the devs keep saying they are listening but they really aren’t. They do whatever they want and keep talking about how they know what players want but never seem to deliver. After you have been through almost 6 years of the destiny roller coaster you will see why the forums are so negative lately

Most of us remember what it was. The guardian had power. Our exotics were powerful. Our Supers were just that. The game is a pile of shit, thanks to the pathetic crew of Bungie. The old crew knew how to create. This new crew only know how to destroy plus steal from D1.

Bottom line? Everybody has their reasons. Not in the cliché way. Like for some it’s PvP metas, or matchmaking, weapon stats etc. For some it’s stagnant loot, ham-fisted eververse content, weapon nerfs etc. On one hand, that’s a really good thing because the game offers so much variety and there’s pretty much something for everyone to enjoy. On the other hand, you can see how Bungosaurus Rex has screwed up pretty much everything and made things worse. It’s quite a display of greed, ignorance, elitism, arrogance, disrespect towards the player base keeping it alive etc That’s a lot of “etc” but damn have they messed up a lot

If you have spent some time on the game is where the distrust is built to say the least. I will try my best to give a time line of why. -Curse of Osiris launches, less content then this DLC they charged it as a full xpack... -Bungie is caught intentionally throttling players exp to increase the grind, they publicly apologize. -Trials of the 9 drop and it kills its self with its countless flaws. -Refusal to change OEM for an entire year because its what cozmo played(It use to instant full heal, instant over shield on top of the full heal, 8% damage boost that stacked with all damage boosts, wall hacks. New players really dont know the pain here of titans being the only 1 hit melee ability at the time while ace of spades was double taping you from across the map like a sniper on top of being able to see you through walls & no I AM NOT exaggerating. This was actually happening). -Bungie splits with Activision and publicly apologize for the poor content that is Jokers Wild saying they were "Burned out". -Informs us that they plan to sun set our weapons. This would not be as big of an issue if Luke Smith/cozmo did not make a very long and detailed post how this wont happen to us again and we value your time spent farming X weapon.

I would like to start by saying that i think its great that you still get enjoyment from the game. That being said destiny is nothing but a steaming pile of donkey shit. The game used to be engaging, challenging and a grind. Now its a cash shop con job with no effort put into real content. Its just hype, give me money, more hype give me more money. Bungie are just EA's gimpy sibling that just wants all the money. Dont care for the playerbase, dont care for your feedback they just care for your money.
