I don't see why I have to pay an extra $25 plus tax just to grab a gun from exotic archive. Spent $65 on Forsaken when it came out on PS4 now I am on PC I cant play certain strikes or grab certain guns. The expansion should be free as most of the stuff on it doesn't help in the end game grind and loot collecting only anarchy and retold. However anarchy can be bought and retold isn't really a must have. I only want Anarchy, I got all my spoils got the ascendant shards went to go buy it and "REQUIRES D2 Forsaken". Either make it so the expansions cross from platform to platform or make it free.

So if you pay for a Netflix subscription, you feel entitled to be able to watch movies on Hulu?
-
Just buy the DLC’s. They go on sale all the time on PC.
-
Why does this even need to happen? With cross play coming you can stay where you spent your money.
-
Get on PS4, go to the Tower and buy Anarchy from the Monument. Then get on PC and use it...

Imagine if this was a disc based game and you switched form xbox to ps... It all boils down to Steam, MS, Sony and Google greed. We are luck that we dont have Apple somehow involved in this mess otherwise we would be so royally screwed. Anyways, your game is sold by a different company. So you can only use it on that's company's platform. For example, you want to watch Avengers movie and you buy the ticket from ABC cinema... you cannot show up on XYZ cinema to watch Avengers movie. Games work the same way, platforms are like cinemas and game is the movie which is same regardless of the cinema.

This is not within Bungie's control. When you purchase an expansion from the PlayStation store, for example, Sony is granting you a license to access that content on their platform. Bungie is not the one handling this license, so Cross Save cannot transfer the license to another platform. Each platform requires that you purchase a license for that platform, just like games in general.

Edited by Fate: 7/31/2021 1:42:59 AMGo play warframe if that’s what your into Their planning on taking cross save and crossplay to another level And it’s sorta like destiny
-
Great to know you know nothing about licensing
-
So i spend 100 dollars of d2 when it first came out and played beta as well and am d1 player also then bought 75 dollars on forsaken because it came with shadow keep then another 75 on beyond light
-
Expansions are purchased thru psn, xbox store or steam, not thru bungie
-
It's like when you buy an CD or a Blu-ray, you are purchasing a licence to watch them, but you do not own the content and once you trade them in then you no longer own that licence that goes to the next recipient and ETC.
-
This is the reason I have not purchased Beyond Light yet. I am expecting to have a PC built soon so I do not want to buy it on PlayStation. However, by the time I build my PC, I may as well just buy Witch Queen instead. 😂

Platform issue, not Bungo issue
-
You'll get no love from console ppl on this subject. I feel your pain though. I love the PC experience but have to play on console as well because my buddys are there. Grind the game on PC (its faster!) but when its time to co-op... over to console.

Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 7/29/2021 9:02:51 PMWe got cross save, not cross license.... Bungie warned us about these issues a couple of years ago?
-
would only work if all content were free.
-
Can’t but could do it for season passes
-
Platforms want their money
-
Buy the extension it's like 10$ when on sales and it's on sales like 70% of the time
-
Its a licensing issue. But I dont get y they cant just lock the way to get the exotic behind the expansion, but not require it for the exotic. In a sense anyone could technically have the gun, but only those who bought the pass can access the mission thst rewards it. As for world drop ones idk
-
I would love this but unfortunately, this is due to the game being on multiple platforms ... it sucks but everyone wants their piece of the proverbial pie.
-
This isnt in Bungies hands sadly.

This is how they make extra money on the side, but that’s why they are a measly little $10 season expansions and not $60 “comets” from way back, you don’t really need to play the seasons in-between unless you absolutely want to feel like you are making a difference in-game when in reality you are not because it’s already planned and you are just here for the ride to the main story. In my honest opinion if you are to play the in-between seasonal expansion stories then that’s cool, grind out the “endgame” Exotic loot for this season, but it’s not going to matter when the next ones come out. Just wait until the BIG BAD Main expansion comes out like for ex: Shadowkeep/Beyond Light/Witch Queen/Lightfall and new better updated gear will be out for grabs. Now if you want to go out and grab certain loot because of the way it looks then by all means go ahead, I’m just saying personally I don’t care too much about how I look, functionality over fashion.
