Would you leave Destiny if they took out PvP?
Just a survey for devs to see what they should be focused on.
Edit: I've been reading almost all the posts to my poll, and really am enjoying the engaging argument. Yes, I realize the forum has a bias towards PvE. Not much I can do about that. It is what it is.
What I am pleased to see is the COMMENTS seem to be relatively equal in PvP vs PvE...and that was my hope.
Is balance in PvP hurting PvE? Should D2 PvE be a deeper RPG experience? What other games handle this marriage of PvP and PvE well, and how are they able to do that? Is PvP being held back by lack of engaging content?
While most will blame one side for the other's demise, the long and short of it is that Destiny 2 is HUGELY popular...and has been all the while with a marriage of both PvP and PvE...even creating a new genre of game that combines then both, with Gambit.
What I feel Bungie needs to do is continue engaging all three sections of the game equally. Seasons should simply rotate the focus...so each get a large content drop when it's their turn.
As far as balancing the game, they should stop trying so hard. Balancing doesn't mean make EVERYTHING the same. It means making everything have POTENTIAL...if you use the right combination of mods, perks and play styles.
I just don't know if Bungie is slowly killing off PvP to get people to engage with their next IP or are they just struggling to get the right people to fix D2. What I do know, however, is the struggle is real!

Bunch of self-centred cry babies. Instead of crying about putting even less "focus" into a game mode that keeps this cash cow game alive during content droughts (which is 80 percent of the time) you could ask for the devs to actually put effort into it and make it better. Literally not a single pvp player has ever, once, asked Bungie to disrespect pve players and put less effort into pve. WE JUST WANT BOTH TO BE FUN. Disgusting.

Hell no. I would throw a party. I dislike straight pvp. I do love Gambit. Whenever there is a quest that requires an element of pvp to it I get very disappointed and a tad upset. Love the look of Trials weapons and armor but despise Trials with a passion. If they could make same equipment available but different color scheme and perks or mods I would be very happy.

6 RepliesAbsolutely, yes. I don't get PvE mains at all. What's the point? You spend 30 minutes to an hour on a raid, nightfall, or dungeon, complete it, and then what? You can brag about the fact that you cleared it? None of the PvE content in this game is remotely hard, save a few GM's, and weapon rolls have far less meaning in PvE where most enemies die in 1-2 shots anyway. PvP actually gives me a reason to grind for guns and good armor, so I can build my character and show off my effort against other people. I'm sorry if you are living in denial, but there is a skill gap in this game, and it's fun to see all the time you've invested into good loot net you a sweet kill streak or K/D. If PvP was removed, I'd have no reason to care about loot, and no reason to get on every week. There's plenty of PvE-only games I've played throughout my life, and they always get boring within a few weeks because there's no sense of accomplishment in killing AI's.

I voted no, however there are a lot of ppl who prefer PVP and they should be catered for. The problem as I see it is that I pay for PVP content and they pay for PVE content. It should be split with a proviso that you can opt in for both and pay for it. All others should get a discount.

Yea I would and the only ones voting no are the ones who play destiny for the pvp only and are ruining the game overall.

Why wait for PvP to be removed? The entire game is broken and this Bungie literally can not improve it because the higher-ups only care about milking the player base. They might have had a chance with the team that worked on D1 but them days are long gone.

I really like pvp. Idk why but it’s just fun to me. People really over exaggerate metas and problems with pvp. The only problem I have with pvp is not enough maps. But I mean removing pp won’t have much of an effect. They already pay very little attention to pvp, so pve probably won’t get any better. And losing players isn’t good either, which is pretty obvious. All I’m saying is that there are people who enjoy pvp, and they want it to stay

4 RepliesI play pve the vast majority of the time, but still like pvp in the game. One comment I see in here that bothers me is quantifying toxicity, there are toxic people in both, pve has some horrible people who will lfg for a checkpoint and kick you to bring in their friends. My point is, you really can't quantify which one is more toxic without introducing every variable, this is a weak and lazy argument. If your argument is more focus on pve content, or not playing pvp to complete content, then stick with that. Emotionally driven arguments are usually poor arguments, that said, in my opinion, having pvp in a game like this makes it unique, if bungie decided to remove it I think the content droughts will effectively bring the game to a quicker expiration.

No, but I'd play far less. Killing AIs even in GMs gets really boring. Killing people who can think and compete- and do crazy shiz? That stuff is fun.

I spend the majority of my time in PVP. I probably wouldn’t leave the game all together but my playtime would drastically go down and would most likely play Call of duty, Apex and Forza Horizon 4 a lot more.
