Destiny isn't a PvP game. It just exists because it's a formality, an expectation. If it was removed, the game would benefit from it.
Destiny isn't a PvP game. It just exists because it's a formality, an expectation. If it was removed, the game would benefit from it.
LoL That’s the dumbest comment of the year. PvP isn’t a formality. It has a Niche following. It’s been in the Franchise since Day 1. It literally has an End Game. Trials and IB once a month. The modes may not be liked or perfected but that’s a different discussion entirely. You want a game without PvP? Outriders is that way———>

Edited by Necrogen: 5/7/2021 11:06:55 PMI do play outriders. It's fun. I also play pvp In destiny I also have fun. Unfortunately for you, this topic is a poll about leaving destiny If pvp was taken out. I would stay. I voted it can go and I couldn't care less what you think about my opinion. <------ Stage left is this way
-
The game's player base would fizzle away more than it already has. The only thing that can even compete in viewership of regular crucible is day one raids. Which is just one day.
-
Edited by Necrogen: 5/7/2021 9:53:53 PMAnd? People already do leave. Now you can flip that and say the same if not more would come back if they focus on pve and fix the game.
-
How do you that fixing the game would coinside with removing pvp?
-
Since they are bad at separating sandboxes, they can now focus on one. More staff are now focusing on pve content and now can make weapons without players crying about pvp balancing. That's but one of many.
-
Edited by Enochua: 5/7/2021 10:14:56 PMFyi destiny 2 was tuned specifically for pvp. If I'm wrong explain the damage weapons do and amount of health you have, even when their is different classes that would benefit from different health. and any other stat as well is specifically geared towards the balance and consistency in pvp.
-
That's amazing! It's still a formality and expectation.
-
It is amazing. It proves it's not just a formality. It's designed for pvp from the top down. If it wasn't then titans would have high health, shields, or damage resistance. Hunters would be faster and warlocks would have faster regeneration of health and abilities and super.
-
Edited by Necrogen: 5/7/2021 10:23:13 PMthey can still have these systems and not have pvp. It's an looter shooter RPG MMO hybrid. The classes should feel different. It still does not disprove that it's a formality and expectation.
-
Edited by Enochua: 5/8/2021 6:50:09 AMThe fact the game is built the way it is, the way I described, which you failed to comprehend, which I didn't say the game couldn't be built with more class diversity, I said it's not, so the way the game is built does prove it's not a formality.
-
What you fail to comprehend is this main point. Would you leave the game if PVP was taken out of destiny? I said no I would still stay. I believe it doesn't need PVP. You can't handle that and that is not my problem. I'm done talking about this with you because you're hell bent on trying to convince me otherwise. I plant my flag that Destiny does not need PVP. Have a nice day.
-
Let it go away and the game will die
-
That's the part they dont see PVE has limited replayability. Destiny is unique due to it having both PVE and PVP. The PVE content is shallow and isnt going to improve if they remove PVP as they already haven't been focused on it.
-
I know I've been going back n forth with this guy and I do believe what I'm saying but I understand that the pve community wants it removed
-
How would the game benefit
-
Since they are bad at separating sandboxes, they can now focus on one. More staff are now focusing on pve content and now can make weapons without players crying about pvp balancing. That's but one of many.
-
The recent nerf to stasis shows that Bungie had always had the option to balance separately they decided not to... PVE isnt going to get an increased focus is PVP goes away as Eververse is the primary focus for the game. The Division and Anthem are examples of what happens when a game focuses on PVE without a viable PVP component to the game.
-
You are presuming that all three companies are the same. You're only showing a possibility of what may be. You're also missing the topic like most people here.. would you leave if Bungie took PVP off of Destiny?
-
I already answered the question... I would leave and never buy another Bungie product ever again. I gave you clear examples of games that took the approach you want Destiny to follow. Destiny is unique because of the combination of PVP and PVE, it needs both.... While I may dislike certain aspects of the PVP community I can say PVE players are far worst. I've never heard of a PVP player campaigning to remove PVE and make Destiny a pure PVP experience.
-
I would leave and never buy another Bungie product ever again.
Noted. Well if that day comes, see you around.
-
Bungie knew destiny would have pvp from the very beginning of concept. They knew it would need pvp. It's not an after thought. It's been apart of what destiny is from the very beginning. It's not just a PvE game.
-
Yes, because it's a formality, an expectation. The game is still a pve driven game. Pvp is not content.
