I'm playing on the Xbox Series X with Samsung Crystal UHD TV. How can this issue be resolved?

Hey there. I appreciate you reporting this issue to us. We're aware that it's occurring and we're investigating. Unfortunately, there is no ETA on a fix.
-
Ok so it's not just me then. Running a series X hooked up to a LG CX OLED. Loaded up the game this morning and its unbearably bright. No issues with other games. Only destiny. Hopefully they patch it soon, it's basically unplayable because of the headache it gave me after on 20 minutes of play

Ok. This is how I got this fixed. Apparently when you play through a monitor and change the brightness this settings remains when you go to a TV. Then on your TV you cannot reverse those changes. You need to connect a monitor and reset the brightness to 4 or 3. Then go back to TV and now you will be able to configure the HDR settings. This fixed came from a friend and was tested on two different consoles. Go and try now

Having the same issues on my Series X but am just doing my best to ignore it until a patch is out

Edited by Drakken: 12/4/2020 7:18:51 PMSame Here on a Sony TV 65X900H. It looks horrible. Update: Just hook the console to a monitor. Then switch the brightness to 3 or 4 then hook the console back to the TV and then go to settings and you can now change the brightness as you want. If you don't have a monitor you can ask a friend who does to login to your account and change this setting for you. It's now fixed and I'm just waiting for the new 60fps update to enjoy this game even more :-)

Does the samething on a PS4 pro on a QLED(2020 model)
-
D2 looks better when I switch off its HDR and let my panel do the heavy lifting.
-
Turn your console off by holding the button(full shut down). Press the Xbox button and eject button on the console and hold them for 10s, you’ll hear a beep when it’s done. Restart the console, all your video settings should be 100% reset and you should be at 640x480. Go to settings and just put it back to 4K resolution and check the game.

Having same problem LG 4K OLED screen, PS4 Pro HDR. I there a setting that can be tweaked?
-
I also have the same issue on xsx
-
Its F’d on pc too. I’m running a 2080 ti GPU with a top of the line LG Ultragear monitor and still had to turn HDR off for it to look good.
-
Please fix this bungie!!!! It’s ruining the experience!!!!
-
Quite/close Destiny 2 completely Turn off HDR on the console Launch Destiny 2 Go to settings and set brightness to 4 Quite/close Destiny 2 completely Turn HDR back on on the console. Launch Destiny 2 Calibrate brightness in the game. Adjust the white as it instructs you Adjust the dark/black to be as close to center as possible. Done. That’s what I had to do.
-
Idk man. I have never had HDR problems with Destiny. This is also in the wrong forum. The correct forum topic actually has technical support at times and would increase your chance of getting real help as hard as it is to believe. Bungie doesn't care about feedback.
-
I spent 30 minutes trying to tweak mine today to fix it. No luck.. 😭
-
Edited by CookieNiki: 12/2/2020 11:05:51 PMIt's like that since BL launch. Despite like a dozen of other threads complaining about it, Bungie never recognized the problem in the Known Issues section of any TWAB since then.

Its ur tv i just brought sony tv and it great
-
Bump. That looks gross lmao
-
Same problem on Xbox Series X with an HDR10 BenQ monitor.
-
Damn i thought it was just me . Im on ps 5 using lg nanocell tv
-
This is happening to me as well (LG CX). Some areas look alright but anything Nessus looks terrible. Hopefully they acknowledge/fix this at some point.
-
It looks TERRIBLE on PS5 with the Sony X900H
-
My issue is that the dark (nearly black) areas turn red now in HDR.
-
It's not you, it's them

This has nothing to do with Next Gen. I am playing on a PS4 pro using a LG CX in preparation of the PS5. Nessus, Crucible and the beginning of Gambit looks so odd, it is terribly for the eyes. They should rollback that "feature" instead of individual players tweaking their settings. No matter how many hints I follow about tweaking, it still looks odd.
