I want. To scream.

I will be the first to admit that I have a Destiny problem. Probably an addiction. Even at its worst (now? yeah probably now), the gameplay and gunplay are superb. I can always get better rolls of something. I will grind forges for that hope of getting a fun new Galliard (dismantled an outlaw-kill clip one maybe 5 seasons ago, because, you know, auto rifles...). There are things that keep me going, and sometimes I hate myself for it, but even at its worst, Destiny is my game. With the release of today's TWAB, I have officially run out of hope. Anymore, it's not so much about what isn't happening, or will happen with a future patch (how difficult can it be to tack on some extra tokens for winning matches later in Trials?), but it's about what Bungie IS doing with their time. Fortunately, before any of the fixes that will actually improve the quality of the game, we will be able to track AND EVEN display how many nightmares we killed in the haunted forest. Sure us casuals will keep getting crushed in the first few rounds of Trials (I know I know... get gud lolz) since there's no incentive to play later into the card, but hey, at least I'll be able to show y'all how many treats I've baked in my Barbie Holiday Oven, or how much Fractaline I donated. I might as well just slap an emblem on that says "Yeah, I have a lot of free time on my hands." Bungie, I have supported you and stayed faithful for so long... I'm BEGGING you... Keep checking things off the list, but holy moly, PRIORITIZE. I can't stay in the tower long enough to put my gear in my vault without getting kicked, but you are proud to announce that within the next couple updates I'll be able to show my fellow guardians my blood type. These forums turn into places for mass angry rants, and I guess in some ways this is one of those. But it's also a plea... Look back on when things went well (a weapon bounty for Trials during year one... how hard is that to make?). MAKE THE CHANGES. Make the fixes. If you can't, you can't, but please give us a dose of honesty... Are you in over your head? Out of ideas? Have a shortage of competent employees? Just tell us. It's gonna suck, but the honesty will be so so so refreshing, and we can see through the pretense anyway. If I have to see you guys pretend to be excited in a futile effort to try to get us excited about the bunker on Io (but... what do you mean you're bored of it? This one's on a different planet...), I'm going to vomit. And if I continue to vomit enough, maybe someday I'll develop an aversion and kick this Destiny addiction. I don't want to, but I'm losing my mind. There are only so many forge batteries a guy can throw at a thing before he stands up and throws his controller through the wall. And screams. Many of the changes you're talking about addressing in a future patch are small, tiny, cannot-possibly-be-difficult changes. Add more tokens... don't be so stingy with loot. There are tens of thousands of possible combinations on a SINGLE GUN (that's not an exaggeration... I'm still trying to get the exact roll of the Blast Furnace that I want... a weapon that can drop with 40,320 different perk combinations). DON'T. BE. SO. CHEAP. Give people tokens. Don't wait. Make that change NOW. Get it done by Tuesday. We believe in you. At least, we used to. For the love of all that is sweet and good in this beautiful game and community... Get your priorities straight. God bless, xBliss22x (127 Treats Baked)

  • Yeah I feel you. It feels like some of this stuff should be a bit easier to fix. At this point, adding more stuff to the game is just breaking and destroying it further. Whether it be rewards, guns, or bugs. If this next season is actually the turning point for destiny then I’m here for it. If this next season is what they hype it up to be, then I’m ready for it. If it’s another season with no raid, another nightfall difficulty, janky trials, bounty farming, fractaline/bit hoarding mess, and one or two cool new things. Then I’m out until the next installment where the game can flourish. It feels like Destiny 2 is a product being passed around and “revitalized” constantly. A structure that’s trying its best to stabilize, but can’t keep building upon a flawed base. This weapon thing is a step in the right direction. Destroying some of that base that wasn’t made by the same architect or perhaps the architects mistakes and previously outdated parts. But we can’t fully do that here. I hope they prove me wrong. I honestly hope for this. But if I am right, then at least Destiny 3 should turn into a pretty damn great game.

  • Stop playing. Destiny is designed in such a way that you're seemingly "addicted", when the truth is that Destiny gets you into the habit of playing regularly. It's a routine. You ever deviate from a routine and feel lost? This is what Destiny does to you. This is the philosophical problem of boredom as well, because you're bored. You know you're bored, but you still play because you think you're doing something productive, when time spent elsewhere would otherwise leave you behind. This isn't true in the slightest, so you default on trying to justify your reasons for playing the game, even if there is nothing worth doing.

It’s not that they can’t. This, what you’re playing now is Luke-PowerCreep-Smith’s “Vision”. Tokens and time sinks are his dream come true. Tokens have been ass since they were released in D2. They had a great reward system in D1. Complete the bounty get the loot. Easy peasy but that wasn’t good enough for him. He’s got to reinvent the wheel. CoO and Warmind were huge flops in terms of content and what does this crayon eater do? Rereleases them with a 2.0 version out of stubbornness. And here we are again. The playerbase hasn’t been lower since the first releases of CoO/ Warmind so they bring back Yr1 Trials(Bungie’s Go To). Yet there’s a catch. Weekly Tokens that reward you the same crap you get from wins. Which leads trials to cannibalize itself within a matter of weeks instead of years. How could they not have know a QD shotty wouldn’t lead to farming? It was done within a matter of minutes. Bungie, It took y’all two years to copy and paste Trials from D1 and you still managed to fck it up somehow. And let’s not get started on the PvE.....Ok let’s. Let’s nerf everything into the ground just shy of primary dmg numbers all the while claiming you want us to “Play our Way” but only with Guns you select with seasonal mods and were even implemented into End Game Content. Just to “Raise the difficulty” Aka Champion Mods... cheap af if you ask me. It’s restrictive as hell. I like NF better when you could actually choose your loadouts. Hell now you can barely use exotics because they offer no mod slot. With the exception of the few later “strong against” exotics. Luke”PowerCreep” Smiths stubborn short sightedness is killing this game in record time. We can only hope this game is around in September for it to be saved by a Comet Expansion. Because now Zombie-19 has taken over the planet and no ones allowed outside so now it will take even longer to make changes than it did before( as if we thought that wasn’t possible). While COVID-19 isn’t bungie’s fault, the state of the game paired with the timing of RL events just might end this franchise. I don’t normally call for someone’s job but as with all things exceptions are a reality. Bungie, either fire Luke Smith or reassign him to the sanitation dept. He has no business directing a AAA game. Destiny has always had so much potential. So much to build on yet since the release of D2 it’s steadily been moving backwards. Bungie, Do the right thing for this Franchise! Get rid of the bugger man...

    • I find it funny that [DE] rolled out like 8 grwat hotfixes to the new event, even though they work from home now, in Warframe with half the workers that Bungie has. Meanwhile Bungie rolls out a message "Our hotfix did jackshit and we won't be fixing them before the next update or later"

    • Im there with you man. During this social distancing COVID 19 pandemic I have dumped a crap ton of hours in to this game. Mostly because it is a distraction and a way to stay in touch with my 3 younger brothers across the country on lock down like me. The action of playing and socializing with them is keeping me sane however the game itself is not. I play it because it's an endless loop of something to do and mostly but my brother's balls and crack jokes while doing the mindless grind. But looking back as like you a Destiny fan since the Alpha phase of D1. This game has really taken a nose dive. I'm like you. If their major resources are tied to next gen phase of Destiny or if the team is incompetent or they have bit off more than they can chew then just tell me. I would greatly appreciate the honesty as well. But right now each TWAB is the same.... "We hear you don't like the champion mods, the server stability, trials, etc. Well here's some nerfs and new trackers to show just how dumb you are for dumping the time you have in to a game with so little substance. ENJOY!" Sigh....

Slave screams he think he knows what he wants Slave screams thinks he has something to say Slave screams he hears but doesn't want to listen Slave screams he's being beat into submission Don't open your eyes you won't like what you see The devils of truth steal the souls of the free Don't open your eyes take it from me I have found You can find Happiness in slavery

The forum is angry the community is angry because bungie is completely absent from any care about the content or state of the game. The current sandbox and meta and seasonal grind and content is unforgivable. This is not a game being developed or supported...its being allowed to persist with as little thought, work and inspiration as possible. Bungie should be embarrassed. We should be leaving. But nostalgia, investment and some sweet gameplay mechanics, gun play and what's left of the power fantasy keep us here and hoping for the best. With our time and our $$$$...more and more its evident bungie doesnt deserve either. Tone deaf, aloof, lazy. That's bungie now.

          • I also have a bit of a problem with this game, roughly 2000hrs between D1 and D2 (I know, that's a rookie number compared to some). It is definitely a love/hate relationship. Through the ups (Taken King, Rise of Iron, Forsaken) and the downs (Curse of Osiris, D2Y3), I've still been there to enjoy what was made, even if it was just to play for 2hrs and ask "Really? That's it?". Personally, I think the thing I want most in D2 is a return to the D1 faction system. I'm trying to have some empathy (or is it sympathy?) for Bungie, between not having Activision to bankroll them, and now everyone is working "remotely" because of the C-Virus, but it's getting hard with the decrease in quality each season.

          • Sounds like you: A. Just don’t get the point of Destiny B. Need to get YOUR connection fixed. It isn’t Bungie’s fault that you can’t spend forever in the Tower before getting kicked. It isn’t Bungie’s fault you don’t want to grind the game for stuff anymore. Grinding for your power is the entire point of Destiny. Don’t like it? Play another game.

            • I’ve played this game religiously for the last 4 years just before TTK dropped in D1. I was addicted instantly and went from playing on my sons Xbox to buying my own just so I could play it late into the evening without disturbing my son in his room. I don’t get much time to play but the little I do I always enjoyed and managed to find a few friends along the way. Unfortunately those friends are now long gone and I’ve managed to hold out playing with the meagre drip fed content over the last 12 months. But sad to say I’ve had to put down the controller and walk away, last weekend I hopped on to catch up with one old fellow guardian for a few hours but haven’t played since. This isn’t burnout because I could never play for long enough to reach that point, it’s just boredom plain and simple, this season has literally zero enjoyment and zero reason to pick up a controller and play it. In all honesty I’m just sad because this game at its heart is a golden goose capable of being so much and having infinite possibilities, and yet Bungie seem to miss the mark every single time. The only real change will come when players walk away from this game in significant enough numbers that it impacts Bungies pocket, I’d honestly love to see that happen but I know it never will.
