I keep seeing ads in my Web browser - Trials of Osiris, full armour from $399! Whaaat??

This was so obvious. The vocal minority wanted Trials back. We D1 vets already knew it would die again to elitism, toxicity and cheaters just like it did before.

This is why trials NEEDS SBMM. Let the sweats duke it out and let us enjoy the freaking game.

Hence the old saying, [i]"When the Gods wish to punish us, they give us what we pray for." [/i] Trials of Osiris is recreating ALL the same problems that plagued all the other incarnations of Trials. ITs basically a game mode where the top players get to prey upon weaker players for fun and prizes. I consider it a PREDATORY----rather than a competitive----format. While an obsession with Flawless runs and getting to see The Lighthouse propped up the original Trials of Osiris longer than I ever thought it would survive....it was starting to wither away as Destiny 1 wound down. Trials of the Nine accelerated that process...and became a convenient scapegoat for problems that were inherent to Trials itself. When you have a predatory format...where you can't compel those at the bottom to show up and play each week? [i] The game slowly ROTS from the bottom up. [/i] For the very reasons that Paul Tassi outlined in his article. If you set up a game mode in such a way where its---effectively---"Winner Take All". Where you can't get ANYTHING unless you can put together a card where you win 50% of your matches against the very best PVP players? Then you compound that with the slap in the face of having all of what you DID manage to get for your efforts----tokens----be USELESS, and then VANISH at the end of the week so you are LITERALLY left empty-handed if you can't get three wins on a card? Who in their RIGHT MIND is going to show up week-in and week-out to be treated that way? Answer: No one. So you whoever is at the bottom of the pyramid gets crapped on....quits the game. Then the next echelon up becomes the bottom....they get shit on....rinse and repeat. Till you finally distill the talent pool down till you get just the very best players playing against each other....but now you have long matchmaking times and poor connections because player numbers are now in the toilet.

And so the trash cans come out in force. Seriously though, are you so mad that you can't go flawless that you want the entire game mode removed.

I get aroused when I see or hear streamers crying.

They held off on adding Trials to ensure it wasn't "half-baked", yet this shit is -blam!-ing 𝘙𝘈𝘞. (Looks like they need a new oven.)

I fully get the hate towards the rampant cheating in Trials. What I don't get is the average players losing matches against better (sweaty) players and complaining about it. Is it because of the entitled snowflake generation wanting to be magically good at everything without practicing? You don't get better by playing against shitty opponents, I was god awful when I first started playing D2 PvP due to my limited understanding of movement and map knowledge, but losing to better players has never been a reason to complain, get better or get out, nobody becomes the best at something without putting in the time and effort. TL;DR: Cheaters are toxic for the game, sweaty streamers are not, stop whining and work on your skills.

Last I checked streamers were complaining about less average players to farm and emotes...

They are not complaining. They are thinking about their casual audience and adept their talking points. It's so funny how people whine about streamers while they are the ones usually taking YOUR positions. Not to mentions that getting matched with them is like seeing a Yeti humping the Loch Ness monster. Most YouTubers would never dare to say what they really think and the few that actually have the ballz to talk shop (Upper Echelon or Darkside f.e.) get destroyed by the Casual Dad army. So, NO, they are not complaining because THEY think that Trials is "flawed" it's because of you guys. That's why they "understand" why there is matchmaking over connection. They think it's "okay" to have cheesy weapons and mechanics in PvP (One eyed mask, insanely powerful supers etc) and they will "apologize for being "negative" whenever they might actually have something unpopular to say. THAT is the state of YouTubing and streaming these days.

It's like the tall kid crushing everyone at basketball during recess, and talking smack about it, then he complains when no one wants to play basketball with him anymore.

Remember when we were all excited because streamers were getting invited to Bungie for a summit? That'll teach us.

I refuse to do anything in game that requires a group but doesn't provide matchmaking. And thats kind of par for the course for me for most content in most games. Im 36 years old, full career, wife, 2 kids. I have zero desire to buddy buddy and bond with people on the internet in a way that allows me to do content, and then "handle" all of their different personalities so we work cohesively as a group. I already do that, its called a job. If trials requires a group without matchmaking, count me out.

[/quote] So what you're saying is unless Bungie makes another playlist that simultaneously limits the matching pool and makes going flawless once a week completely meaningless and easy the casual players won't come back? And what would that solve? Nothing at all. Because it will make flawless easy come Monday every week and then either: a) That playlist wouldn't provide access to any additional loot that the normal one does, thus making is even sweatier without a justifiable reward; or b) That playlist will provide new loot. Which pretty much just re-creates the exact same problem we have now - casual players feel "hopeless" and can't access the loot from Trials. I'm sorry but that just isn't the solution. Catering an entire playlist to casual players while simultaneously damaging the experience or value of others is not the right solution. The best solution is to just design system that's inherently protect the casual experience within one playlist. The loot needs to be just overly abundant. Post game drops. Daily bounties that drop armor/weapons. Increased tokens from wins and bounties. Increased drop chance and tokens from games (win or lose) further up the card. Bonus tokens and more loot from second, third, etc. flawless runs. Trials needs a loot system that incentivises better players to stay at the end of the card so casual players have a fighting chance at the beginning and can therefore acquire loot and a sense of "I just won three games. I CAN do this." Edit: And the whole "locking loot behind x wins and then taking all the tokens you gathered in your attempts for the week" BS is just that. BS.

Every one keep up the work the good work by refusing to step foot in trials. PC is tanking like a sack of puppies in a river. Xbox players, a foot in the right direction! Playstation... come on guys I like the game to but we need to draw a line here. I WANT TO SEE IT BURN! Tank active players accounts, and force Bungie into a direction. ANY DIRECTION AT THIS POINT! As the 4/2/2020 TWAB suggests their will still be no fix or update 5 weeks into the season........

Give me a damned break. THE WHOLE LOT OF YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. You all want to run your mouths and constantly complain, being total hypocrites in blaming the "other side" and indecisive on what you actually want. Biggest reasons D2 has gone to Hell, is because 1) None of you can stop complaining long enough to actually have fun with the game 2) Bungie is so damned foolish as to listen to you constantly whine and bend the knee. Combined with their own incompetence, it's a recipe for disaster. When you let the clowns run the circus, eventually the big top will burn to the ground. Not even mentioning that Destiny's player base can't remotely handle a competitive environment in a mature manner, so half of them cheat while the other half argues over who the game's "problem" is.
