Any NEW USEFUL information on Connecting to Fire-teams within same household?

I've posted about this problem already. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING ON THE TROUBLE SHOOT GUIDE, spent 4 hours trying other player-suggested techniques to try and connect with my boyfriend in the same fire-team. We can't seem to trick it even with tower-orbit-tower or even mid-game invites. NOTHING has worked. Now, I know a lot of players have been on about this since way back in June, but I think we need a little more in terms of progress as informing us that its being looked into - for 7 months - is unacceptable. FYI - NOTHING ON THE TROUBLE SHOOT GUIDE OR PREVIOUS UPDATES AND SUGGESTIONS HAS WORKED. *Cough* So don't try that one with me bungie. (Side note - we use a basic TalkTalk Super Router, partner has a TP-Link plug in Ethernet port). We've tried to port forward, to apply static IP addresses, one go wireless both go wireless. We don't have NAT Acceleration on our router so we can't do anything with that. No I will not go and fork out 50+ quid for a gaming router........ I've spoken to Talk Talk about it and they confirm that it's nothing to do with their router. UNaP is on, and I've tried it off. There isn't much I can do in our router settings anyway. I can connect perfectly well with him on other games. So it's about time we get some real answers please. And I'm not buying the next one if problems like this are still going unfixed. (Paid too much for the collection as it is -.- ). So bottom line. Something Solid to go with would be nice. There are a lot of frustrated players out there, not just including me. So what's it going to be Bungie?

  • you would think since an update did this, it would be pretty easy for them to figure it out, but 9 months later still can't play together. every single other game works. kinda sad that Bungie went from the best game developer to the absolute worst in just 16 years.

  • I'd wager that your router worked just fine before the fateful update. Ours did too. Like you, my girlfriend and I have given up on playing together, and have mostly given up on playing this game all together. There are plenty of other games that work...instantly.

    • Its so crazy how there is so many affected by this, and sadly I am too. My brother and I are both hard wired to our modem and play in the same room. I only recently had this problem on our first match of rift iron banner this week. We played one game together and on the 2nd game my game froze got some error code and was kicked from the game world. I closed the app tried joining my brothers fireteam and it would not let me. So basically all of this started from playing iron banner, and I never had any problems before this and ive been playing since Taken King came out. Plus there is no way im gonna do any of the tips to setup or enable UpUp or w/e its called because im too computer illiterate and im pretty sure id mess up my router lol.

    • Bungie has nothing new on it. It is not affecting everyone though, not saying it's not a problem, just that certain router brands and or setups may be avoiding the problem. My wife and I play together on the same network and we have not had any of the issues so many other have had with doing so. Below is my setup. It may not help you but hopefully it will. I have a linksys e3500 router. Both xboxes are hardwired to the router. Both xboxes have been renamed from their default names and have static IPs with DNS set to match what my router is pulling from the modem and default gateway set to the router's IP 192.168.1.1. (Cox Cable ISP) mine and my wife's Xbox static IPs are 192.168.1.10 and .11 DHCP is enabled on the router and addresses start at 192.168.1.50 and I only have it set to allow 15 devices at the moment. ( this should be irrelevant as the consoles are set to static IPs) Mac address clone is disabled IPSec, PPTP and L2TP passthrough options all enabled(this should irrelevant as it relates to VPNs but it is what I have set for VPN purposes for my job) UPNP is enabled DMZ disabled. SPI Firewall protection is enabled Filter Anonymous Internet Request is enabled Filtetr Multicast is disabled Filter internet Nat redirection is disabled Filter IDENT (Port 113) is enabled No web filters are enabled. CTF (cut through frowarding) is enabled QoS not in use. Up/down: 7.1/74.2 latency: 42 Packet loss: 0 Like I said this is the setup I have running and we have not had any problems. This may or may not help, hope it does.

      • Hey there, Currently, Bungie is aware and actively investigating the issue. You can find current updates and information in the Marionberry, Canary, and Local Network Fireteam Issues pinned thread. This thread has been updated from time to time so keep an eye out. Make sure your home network is properly configured by following instructions in the 'Allowing Destiny Connections' KB article. After attempting the above, you can provide Bungie additional information by following instructions in the pinned thread, Apologies for the inconvenience. • The issue is not just limited to Destiny either. My mates often struggle to be in the same party chat as each other even though they are in the same house, when one is in the party and the other joins the one who was originally in it will be disconnected. Only thing that seems to fix it is a hard reset of their internet.

          • Nobody knows anything more than what they've posted in the topic about it. When they figure out something new, it'll be there. Until then, you'll just have to wait.

I have had success with an xbox by loading the game failing to join fireteam opening the networking setup panel and then pulling the lan cable out. This joins me to wifi. I then plug the lan back in wait till xbox live has sorted that out go back to destiny get my marionberry and reconnect. After all that (about 2min) i can join with local fireteamers till we power off again. No nat acceleration. Yes upnp is on. Open nat. This has been our only fix.

                • I also am sick to death of this issue and Bungies lack of skill to be able to fix it. It's a shame this issue isn't biting into Bungies profits somehow because then the issue would have been fixed months ago. Have you tried doing the Internet test thing to join each other?

                  • Hey man, best thing I've heard is having one console hardwired via Ethernet cable, and the other on Wi-Fi.
