to quote Fallout 4, *everyone disliked that.* Please do not time gate onslaught loot - especially all the way up until 2 weeks before final shape. Just let us farm for all the guns on day 1. This is supposed to be a celebration, not punishment.
-
And when you done everything within a week, then what?
-
Most of you aren't good enough, or don't play enough, to farm everything that quickly anyway.
-
Players: farm everything in a week Players: there is nothing to do in the game, dead game dead game
-
Its unbelievable how important this is to some people.
-
I will admit it's a bad idea but at the same time the same ppl saying this will turn around and say there's not enough incentive to play into the light if we already got everything. It's one of those situations where bungie can't really win, they can either time gate and have ppl hate them or they can release everything and still have ppl hate them for there being no reason to play the new activity or anything after they have everything
-
Why? So you can rush to the forums to whine about how there's nothing to do a week or even a few days later?
-
If a players wants to play constantly to earn everything day one, that should be their choice. To play the game when and how they want. The manipulaton Bungie constantly puts on people to extend play time etc has been a significant part of why people have quite. If bungie actualy made new content instead of lol guns or data changes maybe people wouldn't react so poorly. Bungie just can't get out of its own way to get a win, they must manipulate the community to play, when and how they want. See you in the fall Sony. Lets see what you can do with this IP.
-
Right. People complain no matter what is done, so why not take the easier route and let everyone just grind it with no gates? It sounds (and looks) like, from the stream, there are alot of good perk combinations for each weapon. I have no doubts I'll have multiples of each. That's alot of grinding, regardless. Besides, people are responsible for themselves. If they grind it all out right away, then complain about being bored, oh well. They can go slower if they don't want to be bored.
-
Why? So you can complain once again about needing more vault space? You will have that 100 slots they gave us filled up in 3 hours.
-
Translation: "I'm fat and haven't ever touched a woman, please give me something to do on said day"...

Edited by Obi-Juan: 3/27/2024 9:44:23 PMThey want to hold you hostage for all 2 months and it's actually laughable. They're becoming out of touch with how to make people want to play their game. Just show goodwill and people will play your damn game it's not rocket science. Stop timegating and trying to sneakily hold people hostage with these retention tactics. It doesn't work. It just creates negative reception.
-
So everyone wants to get all the guns and god rolls in 1 week then complain they have nothing to do
-
No, make all 12 quests available to accept day 1 and farmability unlocks after you complete that specific quest..
-
Game developer make Timed stuff to ensure that people comes back to the game. Having active player could mean an income. Besides, aren't you coming back every week anyways ? Also having it time gated means that there is a reason to go back into that activity, and make it more alive.
-
Great idea.. then you'd be back complaining 2 weeks later that you've got nothing to do again.
-
So that on day 2 you’re on here complaining there’s nothing to do??
-
Totally agreed. I'd be fine if they time-gated the "special shader edition" versions, but everything should be obtainable from the jump.
-
Timegating in itself isn’t an issue to me. It’s that the last weapon will only have 2 weeks to grind for before TFS. If they doubled up and released 2 per week, it’d be waaay better. Get the whole set in 4 weeks instead of 7.
-
Consider for a moment if they do do it this way would it enhance the drop range or intrinsic effect of the mechanic.
-
You just have no patience. It's fine. If Bungie released all on day one you would complain later you have nothing to do.
-
I agree. Not everyone may be able to farm these weapons when they release. Especially since there are limited edition FOMO variations that go away when final shape releases. They need to release all of them at once.
-
You have to complete each quest to unlock that weapon to drop from onslaught.
-
release all guns —> playerbase spikes, everyone gets what they want in a week, playerbase falls and people complain bc of lack of content release guns thru drip —> people complain they wont get their guns instantly, however playerbase will not spike then fall all at once, instead it will have a steadily increase for a short time with tiny spikes and falls each week you see why they did what they did (the complaining happens either way)
-
They will throttle some the quests. That's my concern.

Or instead, let us pick which to grind for, then you can hold on to rest until next week, then let us pick again. That way, they can still do their little time-gate b.s. and players are happy with what they were able to pick
