Solar Warlock DawnBlade buff

it needs to be buffed for damage and aspect merge to match the previous super build. It is not usable in PvE in ANY serious content. You are more of a liability than an asset. (solo lost sectors i would not dare) We need new aspects to become radiant easier. This chain on chain to activate an ability is frustrating.

  • At this point I'd say just scrap the Day Break super as a whole and replace it with the Harvester Scythe. It basically does everything the sword should be doing right now. It makes targets explode on kill, spreads scorch and causes ignitions. The projectile has the same animation and sound effect as the swords and it has crazy good tracking. It's excellent at mob control, single target dps and it can heal the user on kills. And it does all that without the need of a fragment, aspect or exotic. It also pairs very very well with Dawn Chorus, and the fragments that boost scorch and Ignitions. Harvester Scythe is everything Solar 3.0 Daybreak should have been.

I agree, the super is extremely lackluster and needs help; the sword projectile itself doesn't even cause scorch, which is hilarious to me -- it should ALWAYS cause scorch/ignitions, with Dawn Chorus buffing/adding onto the effect of such. Bottom tree got pretty slaughtered in general with 3.0, and middle tree got neutered to a good extent as well with them giving the healing grenade to everyone-- that's all I see 85-90% of people use now in PvP. Off the top of my head, here's what got nerfed / completely removed from Dawnblade's super as a whole in 3.0: • Everlasting Flames Removal-- Dawnblade's super is the only roaming solar super now that can't be extended with kills / other means and has the lowest uptime and borderline weakest damage (without Dawn Chorus); Titans can still throw more hammers, and Gunslingers are refunded shots and can keep firing their golden gun far more (in PvP atleast) than should be within reason. • Icarus Dash-- Cooldown used to be removed during the super at the cost of expending super energy per dash on an already low uptime super-- now it has a cooldown even when the super is active that won't usually be done until the super is over, and can hardly be used in a versatile manner to counteract the slow projectile travel time while being shot at. • Phoenix Dive-- So, funny enough, not a lot of people knew this because a lot of people ran top-tree, but on bottom tree, when you had Dawnblade's super active, Phoenix Dive was replaced with a sword-slam attack into the ground, causing AoE damage + burn; it was just weak enough to where you had to slam right next to someone to 1-hit them, otherwise it would leave you vulnerable to being shotgunned. Now with the new Phoenix Dive (which has a laughably long cooldown and replaces your Rift), you can only sword-slam ONE TIME PER SUPER, AND it consumes the class ability energy. • Touch of Flame (Original)-- The original touch of flame ability that was on bottom tree was pretty straightforward; if a target was taking burn (now scorch) damage from either your grenade, melee, or super, and died while burning, they would always explode. This could synergize nicely above with the Dawnblade sword-slam, as it caused burn damage-- got a group of 10-enemies under you? Slam that sword down, cause them all to burn, and whatever died, exploded and finished the rest AND extended your super with Everlasting Flames. Now Scorch has to reach a specific threshold to cause an ignition, as Warlock don't have an 'instant ignition on kill' ability like Titans/Hunters, making it so we can basically never proc ignitions on anything but high-health enemies unless we sacrifice out seasonal mod on the class item that causes ignitions with solar headshot kills (only) on scorched enemies, which every class has access too anyways. BONUS: Most people also don't realize that with middle-tree's healing grenade getting put into it's own catagory for everyone, Warlock's lost their ability to stay airborne / 'float' in the sky while charging their healing grenade. To add fuel on the fire (no pun intended), the inconsistency bug with Dawnblade's projectile either hardly doing damage / not doing damage at all while hitting an enemy/player that is airborne is still in the game almost 5 years later and hasn't been addressed.

        • Not many warlock mains out there. This probably won’t get enough steam. Even tho it is 100% true. Dawn blade is an absolute liability! I’m not real sure why it couldn’t be atleast on the same level as banner shield. It is tied with spectral blades as the worst super in PVE. And is the worst super in PVP. Hit detection? Damage? Speed of projectiles? Duration of super? Dog water….

        • Should apply scorch at the minimum. 60 stacks worth. Duration should also be increased

        • 100% agree. It need more damage, duration and fast blades. If it were up to me, Id just get rid of that super and bring a new one. Like the reaper from The Leviathon. That thing cause scorch and is hella fast

        • Alas there are only two solar warlock builds now its either Roy Mustang snap or Starfire Protocol and both of this are boring now.

          • Dawnblade already wasn’t the best in pve but now it’s even worse. It’s good as a pvp exotic sure but for solarlock pve players it’s pretty much only well.

          • It needs a complete rework by someone with some sense. Heat Rises should go, and Icarus Dash shouldn't be an entire -blam!- aspect.

          • not every super needs to be a top tier DPS monster in PVE, sometimes a super is just designed with PVP in mind. Dawnblade is still one of the best roaming supers in PVP as an example look at the other classes. Spectral blade super sucks in PVE Striker titan super sucks in PVE arc staff is meh in PVE Dawnblade just happen to be that one Strong PVP super but lactluster PVE super also well of radiance is a thing, which is prob on of the most broken supers in the game. also hard time getting radiant? - the melee fragment? and when using heat rising, getting the melee back should be no issue, also every heard of the "heavy handed" mod? - rain of fire? just slap on vex or something. aka same amount of ways to proc it at the hunter class.

            • Pretty sure Radiance doesn't affect the Dawnblade super, even then there are a couple ways to grant yourself radiance whilst keeping it up constantly.

            • Yall are crazy I main solar warlock and they're power houses when built right. Stop trying to float in the air all the time and use your healing rift/well of radiance , sunbracer solar nades or starfire double fusion grenades that explode twice etc. Run max resilience/recovery or discipline etc, I run lost sectors np anytime with out a sweat for the one comment saying forget doing lost sectors on them. Legend/master NF can mostly solo and solo dungeons. Excellent in raid groups, yall just whack at warlocks.

              • I wish they would just scrap Daybreak, and bring back the Radiance Super from D1 Sunsinger (minus the Fireborn self-rez ability, for all the whiny people that think that's all Radiance was good for). Being able to chuck a bunch of grenades will have way better damage output and ad-clearing utility than that sorry excuse for a Super.

              • Honestly, i dont see why they didnt keep the bottom tree daybreak super. It was, pretty much, the best part of that subclass by a mile. I can live with the rest not returning, honestly.

              • Dawnblade should apply scorch on hit by default and its really stupid I have to waste an exotic slot to do that. Not to mention said exotic is now WORSE since they removed the part where it makes Dawnblade do more damage on repeated hits.

                • Ngl I’d rather they delete that super and replace it with a thrown sword that does a DOT scorch effect that can trigger combustion in an area similar to the vortex nova bomb. Super would be more useful if it wasn’t a long bad super that has worst accuracy of any projectile super due to projectile speed.
