Masterwork Weapon Changes Are A HUGE Nerf To Functionality & Guardian Power

Just gonna pile in so hopefully Bungo get the message. Absolutely add the mods (although, chest maybe instead of head ?) but do NOT remove the orb generation function from masterworked weapons. Good grief man.... who would do that ? It's going to make it virtually impossible to run orb generation in all 3 slots, which is an absolute MUST for solo players. This change is hella dumb.

  • They really want to push people playing 1 element at a time. And increase value for Osmosis. Just feels like more limits to play as you want.

    • So glad I walked away from this game. I left like 3 months ago and it's still the same season. I turned it on abouy 2 days ago. Dude. Sooo slow and trashy. Destiny officially sucks

      • Here's the deal, the community should do what it takes to get this change removed before it's here. Actions speak louder than words, but the real question is how many will actually take action or just complain and deal with it later... The community knows what action they should consider here. ✌️

        • The 2 problems with the orb change for me is it discourages team play. How often have run around picking up others peoples orbs for charge with light or your super? 2nd it further diminishes the power fantasy. Team play and power fantasy have always been my favourite parts of destiny.

            Coming February 22. Do you like recycled ideas, enemies, and buying weapons you've already payed for? Do you want to play the same level 3 times just with different objectives?           • What will be the point of masterworking a weapon? The tiny stat bump is negligible at best and kill trackers should honestly be there by default. Unless the change to masterwork guns makes them borderline better than Adept/Exotics, nothing they are adding is going to matter. If that's the case, all this will be is another way to overinflate mods on certain armor pieces. God help the forums if the Orb Maker mod costs upwards of 5 points on top of hogging a slot.             As you say, they could add this Armor Mod for Orbs from non-MW weapons and still allow MW weapons to generate Orbs (without the mod). They are independent of each other If they take away the Orb generating feature of Master-worked weapons it is a CONSCIOUS decision to disrespect time and resources invested in the game

          • Does this change apply to legendary masterworked weapons as well? So instead of creating catalysts for those few exotics that were missing them, they decided to take orb generation away from all masterworked weapons. We now have to equip a mod to our helmet to get orbs to generate? Let's call this for what it is.....An orb generation nerf. I hope this change won't be as bad as it sounds, but this sounds horrible on paper.

            • Don’t remove them from masterworked weapons AND have the mod? Are u delusional? I don’t know what u play in destiny idc it’s up to u what u wanna play but in pve there’s millions of orbs on the ground in almost every activity You wanna break the game? Like for real for real break it. Like the game not being able to handle that much info

            • Charged with light is going to taking a big hit with this. The weapon based one’s struggle in endgame, Wells are the same way and still require you to run and pick them up before they expire. Shield break is going to probably be the go to for endgame. With high energy Fire seeing a lot less use.

            • Im not surprised that players in this game still don't understand that things will change over time in live service games. Expecting to see the [i][b]same[/b][/i] functions, abilities etc is insane. Per usual, these "changes" will be overstated by this niche part of the community. Come time in the next expansion, we will see these changes weren't as impactful as some claimed it to be.

                • I think the orb change is a positive if something like I describe below comes with the weapon crafting… You want to create your god roll (insert weapon name here). You have it drop but with 1 of the 9 options that make up a weapon that would make up your god roll. (2x barrels/scopes, 2x mag perks, 2x column 1 2x column 2 and the masterwork perk we have now) You go to where you craft the weapon and you ‘sacrifice’ that weapon to start your god roll and in doing so, you take 1 perk from the sacrificed weapon and it is on your weapon ‘frame’ (kill clip in column 2 for example). That’s were you start ‘crafting’. With each drop of said weapon, you can sacrifice it and take 1 perk from it and add it to you frame until your frame is complete. Then your grind begins for true mastery. You use the basic frame with no perks unlocked (just like D1). Once you have all the perks unlocked, it becomes masterworked. This means the stats bump up just like on Adept weapons right now (plus 2/5 to things like range, stability etc as well as the plus 10 to the masterwork option we have now) Hope this made sense. Ask questions if you want clarity on anything.

                  • Weapons are at their memory limit right now, due to masterworks genning orbs. So this means we get more weapons at the cost of what? 1 point of the helmet? So HC targeting, recovery mod and a power orb mod.

                  • Its been a long time since d2 players were united x) Everybody, hunter main, titan mains, warlocls mains, casuals, crybabies, sweats etc.. Is against this change and express their opinion. Beautiful But its bungie remember : they dont care, they do what they wanna do, just have to see how they responded to super nerfs in year 2

This change is hella dumb.[/quote] The thing about Bungie is that THEY'RE GONNA LOSE PERSPECTIVE AGAIN, BECAUSE THEY'RE IN THE GAME TO DEEP AND CAN'T SEE IT FROM A NEWBIES VIEW, IT'S WAY TOO MUCH TO DEAL WITH FOR ANY GENRE OF A VIDEO GAME. THEN NO SPACE FOR ALL THE STUFF THERE'S TOO MUCH STUFF FOR 500 SLOTS THEN THEY'RE GONNA MESS WITH WHAT CAUSES ORBS TO DROP WHICH WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING SO GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. IF THEY FRUCK UP BAD THEY'LL FIX IT ANYWAYS. BUT PROSPECTIVE IS ALWAYS EVENTUALLY LOST BY FAME, AXLE, THEY'RE TO BIG FOR THIER BRITCHES GOOD THING IS THAT THERE ARE RUNS IF GREAT GAMES NOW SO DON'T LET THEM EAT YOUR LIFE UP AGAIN, DO THE STORY, HAVE SOME FUN AND GET AWAY FROM IT LIKE I'VE BEEN DOING.
