Just a survey for devs to see what they should be focused on.
Edit: I've been reading almost all the posts to my poll, and really am enjoying the engaging argument. Yes, I realize the forum has a bias towards PvE. Not much I can do about that. It is what it is.
What I am pleased to see is the COMMENTS seem to be relatively equal in PvP vs PvE...and that was my hope.
Is balance in PvP hurting PvE? Should D2 PvE be a deeper RPG experience? What other games handle this marriage of PvP and PvE well, and how are they able to do that? Is PvP being held back by lack of engaging content?
While most will blame one side for the other's demise, the long and short of it is that Destiny 2 is HUGELY popular...and has been all the while with a marriage of both PvP and PvE...even creating a new genre of game that combines then both, with Gambit.
What I feel Bungie needs to do is continue engaging all three sections of the game equally. Seasons should simply rotate the focus...so each get a large content drop when it's their turn.
As far as balancing the game, they should stop trying so hard. Balancing doesn't mean make EVERYTHING the same. It means making everything have POTENTIAL...if you use the right combination of mods, perks and play styles.
I just don't know if Bungie is slowly killing off PvP to get people to engage with their next IP or are they just struggling to get the right people to fix D2. What I do know, however, is the struggle is real!

Yeah, I'd stop playing and uninstall the game if PvP was removed. I play the PvE stuff to get gear and guns to take into Crucible. PvE stuff, for me, is a story driven thing. I stopped caring about Destiny's "story" back in D1.
-
As long as they still have Gambit...
-
I've only played one match of crucible since last July, so no.
-
I might actually buy silver if they removed pvp..
-
I wouldnt leave but my game time would definitely be dropped in half.
-
Edited by Ghostfire239: 5/6/2021 6:24:11 PMI’d definitely play a lot less than I do now, which is already pretty low. PvP is the main thing I play in D2. PvE is fun and all, but it gets boring quick. PvP is usually what carried me through the boring times in D2.
-
Never been that good at Destiny's pvp and wouldn't be sad at all to see it go. That'd put a stop to pvp requirements for quests.
-
I know people love the PvP, but let's be real here. Destiny would not be what it is if Raids never existed. PvE has always carried this game and always will.
-
Keep in mind that this forum is a small part of the community, and that these surveys are almost never indicative of the actual playerbases sentiment.
-
What if they remove pvp but add more raids and dungeons? I don’t like pvp, but I sympathize with those who love it. To each their own.
-
Edited by SHOCKWAVE 134: 5/6/2021 5:53:29 PMActually I would literally play more. I don’t want in my directory.
-
My thing is, why? I mean, they obviously are not using any of our money to support it🙊 Therefore why should it matter if it is there? They just need to remove locking things behind players in this game due to the ego infections that lead to advantage users/cheaters.
-
Probably not, because the pve is pretty fun
-
Leaving is a bit strong. I like PvP because I can hop in with whatever and it’s chaotic and fun(even with stasis, shotguns etc.) I also feel that the best PvE content requires me to get six people together or is a once in awhile dungeon or presage mission. Which don’t need other people either but even without others they still aren’t common enough to want to keep playing D2. People hate on crucible a lot, and often justly so, but asking for it to be taken out is rather ludicrous imo.
-
Destiny definitely has good enough PvE on its own for me to want to play it but PvP should be seen as more important to this game than it has been in the past. Which it seems like its going to be, eventually. Even though I voted no, PvE is maybe a quarter of my total playtime and I'd definitely play it less if there were no PvP.
-
Edited by Olórin: 5/6/2021 5:28:37 PMI dunno about leaving but I don't think I'd play it as much. I like finding weapons in PvE to see how they favour in PvP, I always thought that was what Destiny 1 was about and that's how I feel about it now. I like both. 🤔
-
As far as percentages go, I'm prob 80% PvE, 20% pvp, but I don't think it should be taken out. We do not need to lose any of out player base, that would not be good for the game overall in my opinion
-
I just feel like Destiny shouldn't be a PvP game. In my opinion, they should have PvP, but don't focus on it to much. So basically dont change anything.
-
Would you leave if they took out crucible, if you’re not a free to play leech.** There I fixed it.
-
It looks to be about 40% would leave. That is 40% of players that play PvP, and most of them are not free to play players. Why don’t we get PvP content? Here’s the next question that needs to be asked: how many people care about PvP content?
-
I would actually play more.
-
Nah I wouldn't care.
