I don't really remember which past event it was, but I DO remember when you were SO sorry about how the Bright Dust gains just weren't enough - weirdly in an economy YOU designed and tested - and promised to include some Dust in seasonal Weekly Bounties.
Yeah, about that... where is that now? It just went away after a few events.
I'm sure it was just an oversight and not at all intentional. I mean, you wouldn't gamble on most people not noticing and then just quietly go back on that, right?
EDIT: Apparently it's a bug that is being investigated. After all that has happened in the past, I'm not sure how I feel about giving them the benefit of the doubt anymore (specifically when it comes to bugs that benefit them and the Eververse), but at least it's being fixed.
EDIT 2: On the one hand I don't feel like I deserve all these likes and to be on the front page because this post was literally just a mistake I made and then corrected as quickly as possible. On the other hand though, I think it's very telling how people immediately assume the worst of Bungie whenever monetization is concerned. And I'm not trying to take a dump on the people doing that, Bungo has no right to complain after years of predatory, manipulative garbage. It's less like they don't deserve the benefit of the doubt anymore, rather it's more like they have worked their hardest to destroy any kind of trust people once had in them.

It's funny how things changed for the worse after Chris Barrett was trying to improve things like the events. https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/46567
We recognize that the scales are tipped too far towards Tess at the moment, and Eververse was never intended to be a substitute for end game content and rewards. So, we’ll be making three changes for upcoming Seasons: We’re shifting the balance of new content in favor of activity rewards over Bright Engrams. This includes adding Ghosts, Sparrows, and ships (to date found only in Bright Engrams) to achievement reward pools. We'll provide a gameplay path to earn Bright Engrams and all contained rewards (including Event Engrams). We’ll give players more direct purchase options and make adjustments to Bright Engrams to allow players to get the items they want more often.
At that time some things improved but look at what has been removed since then and how the scales have tipped back over to the shop.

Bungie have said countless things for none off them to happen. Not sure why people are surprised anymore. It’s not like it’s “not like them then to do this” lol.
-
They didnt make a mistake. It was done on purpose with the bright dust thing. They know full well what they were doing. Look how fast theyve fixed things in the past.

Edited by kellygreen45: 8/14/2020 12:09:37 PMNo disrespect, but if BD were that important to you, you'd have been doing the bounties every week that let you earn it. The point of EV is to make Bungie money to cover the cost of the content that they GIVE away at no charage. BD is there as a compliment to let you get SOME of what is in EV. That's all.
-
They will say anything to get your money. They could be in politics they lie so well
-
Bright dust farming is probably the most -blam!-ing boring thing ever in this game. Every week it’s either 150 void or solar kills or it’s fallen in strikes. Then you get those boring ass gambit and crucible bounties. Tbh I didn’t even know gambit was giving bright dust bounties I realized that couple months backs that’s how much I avoid gambit.

Imagine thinking Bungie tells the truth.

Edited by Kiro - 13: 8/15/2020 5:37:22 AMDust econ is meant as a reward to the few vets still playing. if you are relatively new it will always be a resource you will be light on. Their model is spend silver or grandfather your self in with 50k dust because you played year one. I am going to guess you are part of the former.
-
Bungie nerfed the amount of bright dust multi guardian accounts could get but increased the amount single guardian accounts could gain.... But how many people in this community only play one guardian?
-
The other issue, though, is that there's so little worth spending Bright Dust on anymore. A handful of things, when there used to be plenty...now it's about 5 thinhs and if you don't like that selection, tough. All they want is to just funnel more and more funds to Eververse, which is exactly what NO-ONE wants.

The preceding bullshit was brought to you by, Bungie! Bungie: You give us your time and money & we spit in your faces.
-
Haha! Believing a game developer when they apologize! That's a good one! 😂
-
Bumping coz the week is almost over. They fixed the bonus progression bug quickly (which I know is much more important) when this is reported first. Oi, we need more bright dust source!
-
I like how all the Eververse engrams you get from the season are all shit...
-
Maybe we should have a Silver to Bright Dust converter so you can convert any leftover Silver to Bright Dust and any leftover Bright Dust to Silver...
-
Wait until they start charging for transmog. Do you really think bungie will let us transmog for free.
-
It’s not a bug....remember the “bug” that caused the eververse icon to always flash in the tower. Something so simple to fix and yet it took them months. There is no way your going to make me believe bungie doesn’t do things like this and then hide behind the “it’s a bug” excuse. Look how fast they fixed the recaster leveling glitch when it wasn’t to bungie a benefit
-
It’s a bug = they noticed change it back. Bungie is full of it I’m sure throttling progression was just a bug as well.
-
If they make up for it with free bright dust that'd be just fine
-
They could have Tess give out more bright dust packages instead of worthless ghost shells, vehicles and shaders... but they won't.
-
I mean six thousand for some shiny ornaments feels a bit...much ngl
-
I don't remember that. How long ago? I remember them saying to delete your ghosts and other stuff to horde as much dust because the economy was changing. That was about a year ago, maybe just before shadowkeep.
-
Aw boo hoo :(
-
Working as intended Fix will come last week of SoH So they can grab all the silver transactions befor hand -Reeks of being skint- -Reeks of no bank of activision - Praise the Sun
-
Expect a fix a day or two before the end of the season, and not apply to hoarded bounties already complete.
-
Sure...a "bug."
