It’s not a bug....remember the “bug” that caused the eververse icon to always flash in the tower. Something so simple to fix and yet it took them months. There is no way your going to make me believe bungie doesn’t do things like this and then hide behind the “it’s a bug” excuse. Look how fast they fixed the recaster leveling glitch when it wasn’t to bungie a benefit

If it wasn’t a bug, why would they promise to compensate players for the bounties they did? It seems kinda pointless to create a “bug” to intentionally prevent people from getting bright dust only to give them the bright dust they would’ve earned 😐

Because a lot of players don’t read all the tweets and the twab. Many will see they aren’t getting the dust and simply stop doing the bounties which when the event is said and done in total there will be less dust in the economy which means a better chance that real money will be spent on items in the store

So instead of just doing nothing and convincing people bright dust was never going to be part of the event (like it was assumed by most and has been for the past few events) they decide to go for a convoluted method where they still end up giving more than nothing? Yeah, I think you’re really grasping onto straws here. Most players will still pick up the weeklies and complete them as they are ridiculously easy to complete and bounties are worth more than just bright dust to many players. People see bounties they can complete in their play session with little to no hassle, and they’ll take it, that’s how the game has been running this year and so that process has been ingrained in nearly all of us. Basically, there are simpler and more effective ways to produce a similar effect as you are suggesting they want that don’t require creating bugs or giving players bright dust. Y’know, like not letting them give bright dust at all intentionally? We’re talking about Bungie, they aren’t going to be doing that much extra work when the better route is simpler, doesn’t require communication, and doesn’t require compensation.
