I've been thinking about grandmasters being turned into the PvE version of trials. Do 2 without team wiping get a weekly rotating weapon or armor piece that's specific to grandmasters, do 4 without team wiping get a weekly rotating weapon or armor piece that's specific to grandmasters, do all 6 without team wiping get a weekly rotating weapon or armor piece that's specific to grandmasters along with an "adept" version of weapons or armor that's specific to grandmasters that also helps you in all aspects of PvE.. like maybe a perk where adds are less aggressive towards you kind of like the sotp sparrow things of that nature.
Grandmasters are a ton of fun and I enjoyed doing them for the title. It would be epic to somewhat "compete" in PvE every week for different loot even if it's against some beefed up adds.

Edited by Bore: 5/29/2020 5:10:55 PMI’d rather just have them reward legendary primaries that have intrinsic champion mods. Could do both though 🤔

My idea was that you pick up an exotic armor bounty from Zavala (only available for exotics that you’ve already acquired), then when you complete the GM you get that exotic with a max stat roll and fully masterworked. Also, there’s a high chance of getting a random exotic that you haven’t already acquired. I do think there should be playlist-specific loot as well though. They’re adding Adept weapons to Trials eventually, which will have an extra mod slot for Trials-specific mods. GM’s could do this. Really we can all agree there needs to be SOMETHING besides the title.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 5/28/2020 6:06:39 PMMy idea.... is to scrap it. Stop just releasing increasingly difficult versions of things we’ve done a million times already and make the game fun again. It doesn’t even sound rewarding anyway. It’s terrible way to impose challenge and a lame attempt to encourage replayability.

Not a bad idea. They definitely need more of an incentive to complete than they currently offer, afaic. I couldn’t care less about the title. Another idea - why not use some of the under-utilised weapon missions as repurposed GM nightfalls? Eg, whisper mission, zero hour, that one for bad juju etc? Those were all super fun to complete and would possibly allow for greater replay-ability than existing strikes we’ve slogged through countless times already. Those weapon missions are pretty much redundant once you complete them currently.

Something like that would actually make me want to do them!

Even though grandmaster nightfall is cool, Funny story: Remember that Centurion Oryx took right after you landed on the Dreadnaught, then the Centurion and the taken Ogre tried to stop you from killing the King? Heh... didn't work. So the Centurion's bond brothers are pretty angry they lost their commander. They're leading a team to blow up the Dreadnaught's core. Core goes... most of the system goes with it. You're going to make sure that doesn't happen.
-
If they did that, there would be LOADS of disgruntled pve players complaining it’s too hard and these posts will FLOOD the forums. Grandmaster nightfalls also take SIGNIFICANTLY more time then a single trials match (typically). Punishing players for wiping in an already exhausting, punishing, and slow activity will more likely turn players away after several consecutive failures.
-
This would be too easy as once you’ve done it once , it’s easy to do it again. What do you mean by without team wiping once. All GM already have extinguished modifier so that is already in place.
-
Definitely like the idea of GMNF but it was too tough for my team. No big deal, I've never been flawless either. Tons of other stuff in game to keep me entertained.
-
It lacks the incentive of running them again. So I got the seal this season, why would I run a GM next season?

Edited by CaptainW1nky: 5/28/2020 2:55:44 PMYes please! This would be so amazing.

Cool. What was your strat, load out for Broodhold? It’s pissing me off! Thinking of running Chaos reach for void witch to get her out of the way ASAP.

The problem is on the current selection at least 2 can be easily cheesed... and Bungie wont fix the cheese.
