Feeling the Activiton in this solo Bungie event?

Please be civil about this as i feel this needs to be talked about but no hate towards devs or one another! <3 Right so Bad JuJu had a sense of urgency too it with the triumphs an was a resource sink, Very blatant and people denying it saying "do the bounties" when the counties were glitched to work effectively only on one character is insane! how that gets into the game i have no clue. But clearly it was meant to be preparation for this event, as everything has jumped in price along with no event engrams no bright dust, and the cosmetics are all locked behind a bright dust or silver paywall. This is implying the same marketing style Activition teaches and has taught for many years limit time events, real money fix for the lack of gameplay earned cosmetics aka people pay for engrams or direct purchases. This could have been fixed or done in good favor by adding in event engrams but making them rare, make them once every two levels, ect ect. I feel things like the bad juju ornaments are perfect for them making money as a solo developer! but to lock almost all the relevant event loot (even the glowing effects) behind a paywall after a resource sink is extremely obvious employing the more... manipulative methods the industry has been employing. Bungie, we have your back and support you, but this is not it! we wanted to away from them to show us you can be better. Employing the same methods that nearly killed Destiny as a franchise is very risky an i get you can test the waters as show keeps keeping you afloat but please take this into consideration for future events. As i said dont attack one another over this lets talk about this as feedback is crucial right now for Destiny! Cheers <3

  • Bungie created Eververse, not Activision.

    • It was never acti. They published it. That was all. This was and has always been bungie.

    • You can get Bungie out of Activision, but turns out you can't get the Activision out of Bungie.

      • Honestly my interpretation is a lot less.. cynical? The tribute hall was a place where players could "decorate" and collect golden status as a reminder of their accomplishments. Your goal was to complete the triumphs to obtain the status, that's why everything that made the hall feel more like home required resources and the golden status only ever touched bright dust. Bad Juju was, is, and shall be obtainable regardless of how much time you put into obtaining it. The only thing Bungie would have to gain from you wasting all your resources are complaints on the forums However the tribute hall never should have effected solstice of hero's, as I'm sure Bungie understood how few people would spend their most valuable currency (bright dust) on a ghost, sparrow, and a ship. You wasted your stuff for no reason other then to obtain a gun that would be waiting for you patently for years to come, you did it and so did I
but yeah the prices are a little too high
• This is still part of the Activision deal. Bungie will be completely on their own with shadowkeep

          • You can take the Bungie out of Activation, but you can't take the Activation out of Bungie.

            • They can't be better. You people don't seem to understand that bungie drew up the mxt stuff in the contract. It was always bungie making bad decisions. It's why acti wanted out. Hell. They even gave bungie 2 extra years to finish the game.

                • Sadly Bungie, like many friends of addicts, has become dangerously addicted to microtransactions. Though to be fair its not entirely their fault. See its a case of learned behaviour. They saw big daddy Hacktivision making money hand over fist with their loot boxes and micro transactions and now that they're on their own they've picked up the addiction as well. Sadly theres not much we can do at this juncture other then to offer our emotional support. Any and all financial support, no matter how well intentioned, should be put to use in other ways as to not encourage a relapse until Bungie finally decides for themselves that they want to kick the addiction.

                • Like it or not, this is a pretty typical model for a free to play game with dlc (the base game isn't F2P just yet but this is the model we'll see going forward). If they include a season of opulance style engram with old stuff I'd be 100% happy with this "purchase what new stuff you want with bright dust/silver whenever you want, but you can't get new stuff in engrams"

                  • Without 100 million a year from activision and their resources this is what it has come to. Bungie like any other business has to have consistent cash flow to pay for overhead

                    • This event was actually still made with the Activision-Bungie relationship. Shadowkeep is the first truly independent content Bungie will release

                      • Don't blow your load on the first thing you see and you'll be fine. Nothing in eververse is a necessity. It's all cosmetic. There will be more 2.0 armor in a month, this solstice event is meh. Farm up resources, or get left behind when the mmo style and pace end game kicks in.

                        • It’s all optional purchases that do not affect gameplay at all. Why tf do y’all feel so entitled to things? If you can’t/won’t spend money on it, you don’t need it. Bright dust is easy to get if you actually play the game. Weekly exp boost on all 3 characters will net you 9 engram, break down what you get there for dust. Eververse also offers bounties for dust that you can do on every char. Y’all are just lazy and if you “don’t have time” for all that, then you don’t need it and it shouldn’t matter if you get the cosmetic or not since you clearly don’t have time to get on and look at your fancy cosmetics anyway...

                          • Then you realize this isn't a Bungie solo event because that only starts when Shadowkeep drops.
