grimoire does matter. you are right that anyone can be a 31/32 nowadays. ghosts are just a small fraction of the grimoire. try getting 250 ogre kills, hydra kills, VIP kills, public events, 100 salvage wins, etc. grimoire score shows dedication and it is the only thing that you earn in the game.
