I am in a kind of similar, but the guys I raid with are not elite assholes, quite the opposite actually. They helped me by letting me join them in raids. They know exactly what they are doing and who is doing what. They get it done fast and I have a great time. I try to learn what I can from them and I try to do what I can whenever I can and do what they need me to do. Some of the best dudes I have ever met.
Just in the interest of time it's hard to learn how to do the relic because we are all adults and most of them are 7 hours ahead at least. Just got in with a new group though so I'll be doing the relic more often for sure. Already am doing the sword in crota.
It's just irritating the post bitching about how these people cannot do this or those people are always doing that and they usually are narrow minded views the OP has of the situation. It usually comes down to "well, if I can do it, everyone else should be able to" and they use their personal life as the only reference.

We all hold 30+ players to a higher standard b/c for those of us that we're around when the first raid came out did. 30's way back when we're like legends, you would kill to get one to help you. It was also way harder to get to 30 b/c RNG kept messing with us. That being said things have understandably changed with the new vendor armor and an utter lack of necessity to play VoG. It seems ridiculous to me to not know VoG by now and I understand people are busy. I don't mind teaching people how to raid, just not on Hard. It's not narrow minded to assume 32's are able to handle themselves properly on a lvl 32 raid. They have twice the power of a 30 with the relic (or weapons in general). In worst case we would have 29's run relic and even they could do it. What has become clearly evident to me is that unlike with VoG, I can no longer assume Max light lvl guardians can handle themselves in a manner they once did. That is truly sad, but it's what the game has become.
