Yeah, it's sad that a group of 31's and 32's have a problem with Atheon. That's what happens when people get gear without the experience to go with it, and don't have the common sense to realize that they still need to learn/understand the raid. The relic is pretty easy to use: Grab the thing. Smash the ads (a little help with the minotaur is nice). Cleanse the guys hitting oracles a few times. Exit, get to platform, and hold button for the shield. Rinse and Repeat.
