I took a group through on Friday that had never completed VoG but had completed HM Crota.
Not everyone was here grinding the VoG to make 30 in the early days of destiny.
Make sure you know what you are getting into by asking question before joining. Most people are pretty honest about their experience level.

I am not a day one player (obvious with my grimoire). I do agree that I should ask people if theybare experienced or not but people shouldn't be relying on others to handle the relic
