Am I the only one who's glad Destiny 2 is in progress?

There's all these threads complaining about Destiny 2 (or the next major installment or whatever) is in progress, that it's too early, that they haven't even finished this game, Yada Yada and so on, but I'm personally glad that it is. Yes this game seems far from finished, the individual missions on this could have been entire story arcs in a properly presented game. From the grimoire we know that Draksis, Kell of Winter, is supposedly one badass murderer and a brutal leader of the House of Winter that has killed many a Guardian, yet we take care of him in one mission with nothing more than a 2 minute debriefing. People want this fixed, but it's really too late as far as profit is concerned. They could put a ton of work into a massive patch to add in cut scenes and extra missions to put in lost content and storytelling potential, but that won't make them money. Taking what they did wrong, limited social interactivity and almost nonexistent storytelling, learning from it and implementing it into a far superior, better sequel, is what they can do. From the deal with Activision within 2 years they will need to provide another complete game, so I'd rather them take those 2 years and make a sequel that puts this one to shame, then make a couple of half-hearted patches and events with the illusion that it's adding in more content by renaming existing bounties. Don't get me wrong, I'm already stuck with the expansion pass for the dlc (I got the ghost edition) so feel free to blow me out of the water with that. But from the content it seems will be in it, (3 story missions, a strike, and a raid) I don't see how much amazing storytelling they can shove into that especially since the story missions are usually separate from strikes as well as the raid, so they have three teensy missions (a resuming they're connected) to make me feel some of the content can be put into proper story format. Tldr; this game will likely not get much better than it is now, but the sequel very well could be. Feel free to disagree, argue, hate me, etc, you have your right to express your opinion.

  • Wait are yall for real? Did you all forget that when this launched it was supposed to have a 10 year life span. They mentioned new worlds , new galaxies and endeavors spanning light years. Now a lil more than a month maybe tw and they are already ..excuse me Activision announced Destiny 2 ..not bungie. Look you all go right the -blam!- ahead and support this Communistic company. They dont care about the game or the community its all about the dollar. I personally after seeing CoD ....the campaign yeah but thats it. They -blam!-ed up destiny by not allowing bungie to be bungie thats why the lead writer quit. The one who made Halo great is gone. Just like Epic after Cliff left it is just not the same. So ACTIVISION i hope you read this Get The First One Right Before You Look To Do A Sequel ....cause right now Destiny is beginning to remind me of Defiance. Clean your nose and get yall shit right over there!!!!

    • I'm just hoping Destiny 2 will actually deliver. Destiny failed in my opinion.

        • If the entire game was nightfall draksis could have killed many guardians. But My ideas for what should have been. They should have had semi-random named bosses, with semi-random AI tweaks and armor. In other words. Procedural generated levels with truly unique variations. Simple objective unknown outcome in between. Like a mix between warframe and dungeon crawl. A static patrol area for resources with enemies on the outskirts protecting their facilities, a door that unlocks and reveals a set dungeon filled with more of the same enemies, enemies get stronger the deeper into the facility you go and by the end you meet a multi-level boss. That's a realistic raid. You actually attempting to enter their lair and the higher skilled enemies are closest to the leader.

        • If they're going to keep putting out their content the way they have, they will need quarterly DLC releases. So I'm expecting a season pass twice a year. If destiny's major expansions "destiny 2" and so on are going to be out every 2 years, that's a lot d DLC and a long time to be stuck with what we have. I realize the DLC will keep feeding us a few story missions, strikes and a raid. I hope they add more things to do in game, as I'm content with what we have and are getting. But a little more would make me much happier. I don't want them to dump a bunch of resources to redoing the original release, but a series of tiered improvements with the DLC would do a lot for the game. I don't expect new zones on existing or new planet prior to the next expansion, but opening up the tower more, adding some additional factions and maybe squeezing in some of the things we'd like to have would be nice. But yes, I agree. They should have a team dedicated solely to each new expansion working far ahead of the DLC team and they should be working independently of the bug/patch team. Which is pretty much how it is I think.

            • I'm thinking exactly the same things! I honestly think that destiny 2 will be a hands down 15/10 game of the year!

              • You speak common sense and I too look forward to the sequel. Well done. People like you are too scarce on this site.
