Sunbracers feel messed up

The solar grenade duration seems too short. Celestial Fire does not reliably activate the perk. In general, the powered melee kill activation requirement seems impractical given the abundance of kill chaining abilities in the game now. It should probably be reworked to something that doesn't get yoinked from the player's powered melee kill attempt so easily in group activities.

  • Yes the Sunbracers don’t work well. Exactly like every exotic for Warlock. They all suck. The only exotic that worked At All was Starfire. So they Nerfed it into 19th century. Bungie has a 5 year old running there business. It’s amazing Bungie has not run off all their customers.

  • Bungie managed to nerf the only two powerful endgame builds for Warlocks at the same time.

    • Shadow nerfed it... Used to be 10 seconds with the aspect... Now with and without it... 6 seconds max...

It was [i]way easier[/i] to proc Sunbracers BEFORE Solar 3.0! IMO every 3.0 iteration was a Warlock Melee Nerf. Just after Solar 3.0 I tried the 'infinite grenade' build I made again, it is now harder to keep going and does significantly less dmg overall now (or at least feels weaker). [i]And I haven't tried it since Nightfall.[/i] and it makes your hands/fingers tired on controller... The easiest place to get 'infinite Sunbracers' going is the moon, in Sorrows Harbor. Its fun for a few minutes the first few times you do it. But it gets old quick... [i][b]Gunship[/b][/i]

          • Ember of Solace seems like its not doing what it says either. Anybody know what the base restoration timer is? I get 3 seconds of restoration with that fragment. I dont know if it's supposed to be like that or not.

          • I just want the D1 bracers back. 2 charges , 8 seconds, shorter cooldown. Those 20 second nade cooldowns were great

            It’s unfortunate that Sunbracers are bugged but they don’t need a rework, if you build around it some the ability cooldown for melee it’s manageable (armor charge mods). I agree that the Achilles heel of having your kill stolen is annoying but that’s true for most builds on warlock anyway (I’m looking at you stormcaller). If Bungie was to rework sunbracers it would probably make them a lot worse if not nerf them into obscurity. be patient they have a different feel then starfire but have significantly greater utility.

          • Whether it was intentional or a bug… the Sunbracers no longer increase the duration of Solar grenades. There is a video on YouTube showing this.
