Guardian Ranks should go higher than Rank 11 - Suggestions for Improvement

I propose that Bungie should add additional Guardian Ranks beyond Rank 11 - Paragon, and these should include extraordinarily aspirational achievements, like solo flawlessing a Dungeon, completing weekly Raid challenges, completing a GM Nightfall without dying, and so on. And even more: why isn't Trials of Osiris or Competitive included in any of the challenges for Guardian Ranks? Surely going flawless at least once in Trials or reaching Ascendant ranking in Competitive would be an achievement for any high-ranking Guardian? There simply needs to be more to do for truly end-of-end-game players. There's an end-game, and then there's an even further end-game. Call it Rank 12 - Legendary. And maybe an additional Rank 13 called "Guardian of Guardians" for completing a Raid flawlessly and extra things in PvP beyond going flawless once in Trials. Guardian Ranks are off to a rocky start, but they can be so much better, meaningful, rewarding, and holistic to a Guardian's entire Destiny 2 experience - not just end-game PvE. For players like me, completing a Master Raid and soloing a Dungeon is really not that difficult. There should be "super end-game" aspirational challenges like this that reward not only these additional ranks but perhaps ultra-exclusive, 1% of 1% cosmetics that players will truly desire and chase. Maybe something like extra animated Exotic shaders and emblems, flashy transmat effects, gorgeous armor ornaments, maybe even an exclusive permanent flashy Title that displays above your current equippable one, and so on. Lower ranks must also get exclusive cosmetics too, otherwise, nobody will care about them (which many currently don't for this very reason, among others).

As someone who could do pretty much anything asked of me, I think they're kind of fine from what I remember the stated intent being. 1 - 10 shows you're (sort of) capable of doing any activity in the current game and 11 shows you're capable of aspirational content Beyond that, I think Titles are already fulfilling showing Mastery over specific things like Master Raids, Trials, Gambit... And it would kind of further muddy understanding what that number next to someone's name means All that being said, I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of physical cosmetic tied to Guardian Ranks. Ideal for me would be a class item that transforms as you ascend the ranks, think that could be reasonable but fun for the artists and designers Would also like to see other physical cosmetics tied to Mastery in other parts of the game. The transmat effect tied to Comp rank gives me some hope tho

    • Maybe…. Rank 12 - Grandstander - Look at me! Rank 13 - Ghaul - Do you see me now ? Requirements suggestions Solo flawless dungeon. Trials flawless while playing with 2 players that had never been flawless in D2. Complete every available raid in one season whilst playing with at least 3 players that had never completed the raids in D2.
😂😉
• Most of those ranks above 7 require players to own ALL the DLC's ... as a casual player, I'm not paying out a small fortune for old content just to get a different number above my characters head.. if the number above a characters head matters that much that you wouldn't play with them... you need to reasses what a GAME is for .... FUN..... also A LOT of people play solo and trying to do end game content with randoms is a nightmare ... the community used to be great on D2, but is getting more and more toxic and less fun.. if you haven't done a strike/mission before and hope to see what's going on... well you better be able to see it all while running at 100mph, trying to keep up with Raid Gear Rambo that is already way ahead and killing everything ... not know which way to go?... its alright you will be teleported to the boss fight in a minute or two anyway.. that for me is NOT fun, and kinda puts me off bothering with anything that requires teaming up with randoms... I won't ever get more than Guardian rank 7 and I couldn't give a rats a** if you are that fussy that players need a specific rank or weapon to be able to join in with you, then you ARE AN ELITIST... if you just want the rank to say you have it, then I would say you are a completionist...

        • Less than 10% of the player base has even completed a solo dungeon so while it maybe easy for you it's clearly hard for 90% of millions of players. You've got enough bragging rights right there. No need to gatekeep another 9%
