If the Witness him/herself is paracausel, how can we defeat them? And would we want to?
My take on it is that we won't fight the Witness head on but we will stave off their attacks in some way. I'm looking forward to seeing how this all unfolds in Lightfall and the Final Shape.

Send secret agent Eva in!

I don't think we will fight the Witness directly, but I do think them and the pyramids will be destroyed before final shape, which I think is gonna be about the Vex.
-
Rasputin is going to invade the vex network and find a way to shield the traveler and humanity by sending us to a different timeline.

If I close Destiny 2 I will

Realistically? No. Although bungie legit made us gods by literally killing everything so easily with limited help when everyone else fails... So yeah it's a piece of cake.
-
Maybe the Witness is actually the “good side”. The Traveler has been going around giving light powers away. We as guardians go around killing others we think are bad or shouldn’t have the light. Yes, I have seen too many science-fiction shows/ movies. 😁
-
I imagine that the Traveler or the Gardner would need to get involved in order for us to defeat the Witness. It could even be something fairly simple like the Traveler overcharging us in a way that allows us to do something in a new way or just in a bigger way than before.

I keep telling my buddy that I think the Witness is us from an alternate timeline, and that we won't get to kill him, just become him.
-
Crota wasn't invincible. Oryx wasn't invincible. Rhulk wasn't invincible. I'm willing to bet the Witness is no different. As for how we beat him? Probably no different than how we currently have beaten tougher enemies. We'll use their power against them. We've done exactly that to Crota, Oryx, and Rhulk respectively, so the formula shouldn't be much different against the Witness (which aligns with the idea of the Darkness being fundamentally simpler). That said, there's no way of knowing exactly how to beat him, but it will be with both Light and Dark without a doubt.

The witness is seemingly an evil speaker who wields the dark, and uses it. He didn’t create it and he didn’t come from it as far as I can guess from in game lore such as lore books and the throne world memory missions. This means we could end up draining him of his power, or taking out everything around him so he has little power left to use. Even if this is all wrong and he is the sole darkness whatever , I’m sure if we have enough light we could just golden gun him through his huge mega mind forehead
-
What makes you think we can’t? Paracausal doesn’t equal invulnerable. He wants to kill us and the entire cosmos, why wouldn’t we kill him?
-
Vanquished by using the power of friendship... and this gun I found.
-
With everything we've seen So far no. We might be able to trap it for a time, like how the Traveler was caged.

Lightfall The Final Shape We Don't Beat The Witness, we actually helped them in Witch Queen -
I’ll be a bit disappointed if the Witness is reduced to a “shoot til die” kinda thing.
