Well, i think thats because a acolyte was kind of the only option that made sense. Warlocks use the light in different ways than the other classes. Wizard. Titans are strong and hit their enemies with everything they got. Knights. The options left are ogres, shriekers, thrall and acolytes. We can cut ogres, because they arent agile or fast in any way, sams for the shrieker. Thrall is the weakest of the hive, and inly really win by swarming the enemy. Not like a hunter at all. So really, acolytes is the better option.
