Primary useage in PVP
I played an IB match yesterday and counted the deaths I had. 4 from supers 6 from fusions, 3 from shotguns 0 from a primary, now I suck at PVP so killing me with a primary isn’t exactly difficult, but the actual use of a primary in PVP really is limited at best.
I’m not saying that you can’t use what you want, if its in the game then its fair game, but in a recent enough TWAB the discussed bringing primary use more into the game, hence the ability nerfs and whatnot, all great and all but if you’ve got people still maining a secondary for the whole game, what’s the point of even having a primary?

2 RepliesEveryone is running around with one shot weapons. Bungie needs to remove scavenger mods from pvp and only allow special ammo bricks to drop from primary weapon kills

I tank my power level and try to knock out bounties as quick as possible. There is a bounty for more credit with special and power weapon kills. I use my fusion until I am out of ammo, or engage with someone out of fusion range. Got them all done on my hunter in 13 games including the ability/ super kills bounty. I generally play iron banner to knock out bounties and then I am out. Time investment. Sitting on 2,200 tokens for next season. My warlock and titan had their super/ability kills bounties at 65-70% after about the same amount of games, didn’t bother finishing them this time.

If you take a look at my ace and sudden death and the kill count on them both you'll see I have more ace kills that sudden death. Btw the kill counts were tracked at the same time.. Ngl if your not the best people will just spam special weapons on you instead of primary dualing. But you will also see those who just main special weapons but can be easily beaten with bait tactics and forcing them out of the ranges of whatever special they use. So you can fun them down with primary weapons.

Stasis (particularly shatter dive) did need a nerf but for the result is that apes and special weapon mains are back in full force. ‘Death balling’ is also becoming more and more common within teams of 3+ and I think we will have to see some changes for witch queen or PvP could be pretty bad.

1 ReplyI also routinely notice how little I'm being killed by primary weapons. That's one of the reasons why I don't understand the hand cannon complaints.
