Why are recovs and win trading not bannable offenses?

Recovs and win trading are detrimental to the health of the PvP population, specifically Trials. A recovery actively swaps a casual player (who would be practicing in other modes) for a top tier sweatlord in Trials. This makes Trials more and more unappealing as the population dips. And guess what? Several well known streamers have "!recov" as a command in their stream at this very moment. And nothing has been done even though it is against ToS. And this isn't even mentioning the recovery services that use cheats or win trading to pump out profits faster. Win trading just removes people from the matching pool, and it is done on a huge scale. I have personally reported an entire clan using Bungie's report tool three times and they're still playing and win trading months later. I even got a warning on these forums because I posted a link to one of their accounts where they have a 92 K/D in Trials from DDoS wins and hundreds of wins against no opponents (win trading). And they're still playing months later. Why?! And literally two days ago (7/23) Gernader Jake matched a guy who wasn't on his own account. This guy with a 0.8 overall was playing like a 2.0 K/D player, and his match history had a massive amount of flawless cards from win trading on previous weeks, likely from a recovery service win trading to pump out profits more quickly. I can't post a link to the actual cheater of course, but you guys can search through Jake's history and find him quite easily. One of Jake's only losses Friday. My point stands. I have done everything I can as a player to report win trading and recovs, but Bungie has done nothing about it. This is the kinda thing that makes people think Bungie doesn't care about Trials. Care to prove us wrong Bungie? Please. I want to be wrong.

  • 100% agree, let's get rid of pvp, and that will solve this problem once and for all

    • A lot of streamers/Youtubers Carrie and do recoveries so bungie does absolutely nothing about it apart from report them which is absolutely useless because when you report them you see them running around week after week.

    • They just need to come up with a system that discourages what currently takes place to begin with. Just with how much of it there already is, it can't be something to where they just let it run like this and then try to go after every single person that's cheating.

Wanna know why people pay others for recovs or carries? Because flawless players rest their cards and token farm others that haven't gone flawless yet.

        • I’m not sure what Bungie can do about account recoveries, but I do agree with you on the sentiment that ghost lobbies and win trading should be bannable offenses. The fact that it’s even been monetized makes me cringe more.

          • 1. Bungie is against recoveries and while they can not stop people giving out their passcodes to strangers they can.... Ban accounts caught cheating. Not help in recovering stolen accounts. Not restore deleted items or characters. Not remove strange accounts linked to a players using cross save. At the end of the day Bungie can not tell if you are playing from a different location (a friend's house) or you are allowing a recovery. 2. Win trading and ghost lobbies are both not allowed and a ban will be issued if caught. 3. If you SUSPECT someone of cheating use the in game report system or the report form found on Bungie.net to inform Bungie

They are both against terms of service I believe but it's too hard for them to ban anybody.

            • I myself have reported a lot of win trading and sent actual screenshots to bungie directly with the win trading and name of person. I never know if these people get banned but I'm definitely teird looking in lfg searching people on trials report and see 0kd win streaks. Especially when these people join on my lfg posts me usually asking trials 1.0kd+ have mic and find when I search them they have 100000s of games with 0kd win streaks.

            • I'm guessing some Bungie fanboy is going to say something like: "It doesn't hurt anyone." "Fair game". "Git gud" Can't wait to see the responses!
