Just a survey for devs to see what they should be focused on.
Edit: I've been reading almost all the posts to my poll, and really am enjoying the engaging argument. Yes, I realize the forum has a bias towards PvE. Not much I can do about that. It is what it is.
What I am pleased to see is the COMMENTS seem to be relatively equal in PvP vs PvE...and that was my hope.
Is balance in PvP hurting PvE? Should D2 PvE be a deeper RPG experience? What other games handle this marriage of PvP and PvE well, and how are they able to do that? Is PvP being held back by lack of engaging content?
While most will blame one side for the other's demise, the long and short of it is that Destiny 2 is HUGELY popular...and has been all the while with a marriage of both PvP and PvE...even creating a new genre of game that combines then both, with Gambit.
What I feel Bungie needs to do is continue engaging all three sections of the game equally. Seasons should simply rotate the focus...so each get a large content drop when it's their turn.
As far as balancing the game, they should stop trying so hard. Balancing doesn't mean make EVERYTHING the same. It means making everything have POTENTIAL...if you use the right combination of mods, perks and play styles.
I just don't know if Bungie is slowly killing off PvP to get people to engage with their next IP or are they just struggling to get the right people to fix D2. What I do know, however, is the struggle is real!

Actually my playtime would increase cause destiny pvp sucks in comparison with good pvp games. Like that they would have more resources for pve. They messed up pvp since the beginning. Time to realise that you can't fix/balance destiny pvp.
-
I hardly ever play PvP anyway
-
Yes I would Leave.
-
No, but I HATE D2 PvP, except Mayhem. Bring back D1 IB and I'd play that a whole heck of a lot more. Even ran trials in D1 occasionally. Will not step foot in it in D2, not even to jump off a cliff for a certain HC and/or PR!
-
I go Gambit over Crucible. Going against other players isn't all that fun to me.
-
As a player I already left it. Too much bs in the game. As store I can’t leave.
-
I wouldn't leave, but my play time would decrease significantly.
-
Nah. I’m primarily a PvE player. To be honest sometimes I wish they would remove it completely. That or actually do something to improve it. As it stands PvP just seems like a sweaty HC & Shotgun mess. Not enough maps, what maps there are, are too small. D1 PvP felt better imo. Plus I’m fed up with CONTROL. And why is so much time and resources wasted on Trials?
-
Depends on if they add in other end game content. I'm not a PVP only person but I do rely on PVP when PVE gets stale or I just want to do something outside of normal PVE content.
-
Nope.
-
LOL! no xd ever since I switched to pc I’ve been enjoying pve much more than pvp
-
Nope and good riddance! I play solo PvE to chill out or co-op activities like raids or dungeons to hang out with friends. The only PvP I ever enjoy is Mayhem but that doesn't count as PvP to anyone on the planet and rightfully so.
-
might as well take it out with all these sick new updates its been getting
-
No, but that would suck.
-
Not entirely, but I would be might disappointed.
-
If they took it out all together which is a horrible decision then probably. Just give us one or two maps nothing crazy. But I prefer a focus on pve.
-
No, but I'd play a lot less.
-
No but I certainly wouldn't be as interested in the game
-
leave nah but would probably play alot less and have no reason to chase decent rolls of anything
-
Goodbye PVP playing grifters
-
No but my interest in the game would be seriously diminished.
-
I wouldn't quit entirely, but pvp is my go to for when I have nothing else to do. My play time would be reduced a lot, so how about implementing fixes to it so everyone can enjoy it at least a little

Edited by VautlingFrog: 5/6/2021 5:52:45 PMWould my playtime change if they removed pvp, no. Am I a free to play player... again no. And while I find that Crucible and Trials to be one of if not the worst pvp experiences I have had through out all my gaming life I do understand that people enjoy it. Each has their personal preferences, even if I don't agree with them. If the game launched without pvp and never had any intention of it existing that would be one thing. And yes it wouldn't bother me from a playtime standpoint if it were to be removed. However as it does exist, I don't like the thought of removing content which people do enjoy. Just like the vaulting of huge portions of the game. Personally, I feel they should have pve and pvp separated completely. Have both a pve way to obtain gear and weapons and pvp way as well. Same gear, two ways to obtain it. Thus those who are like me who absolutely despise the pvp in Destiny (as I have since D1 launched) dont have to co-mingle with those who prefer pvp content only. But that is just too much work for Bungie to put into this game. BTW this poll isn't an accurate representation of the community as there are way too few people on the forums to respond to it.

Edited by Armer: 5/6/2021 5:23:42 PMI really enjoy both PVE and PVP. But the movement for PVP is awesome (not stasis). If they removed it, I would probably leave. PVP is filler for me during slow times in Destiny. Def my favorite PVP out of all the games.
-
Probably no. If I want my PvP fix Apex Legends and CS:GO are there for me.
-
Yeah, I'd stop playing and uninstall the game if PvP was removed. I play the PvE stuff to get gear and guns to take into Crucible. PvE stuff, for me, is a story driven thing. I stopped caring about Destiny's "story" back in D1.
