Dont stoop to banning F2P accounts.

I see so many ppl shitting on F2P accounts like its "nothing" Aztecross's video was just ill-informed dribble that simply moved the issue away from what it really is (which isnt a F2P issue) CSGO and Siege have had a cheating issue for years, Siege is still a "buy to play" title and they still have "time requirements" for hitting rank MM but as of the current season (Y5S4) they banned over 90,000 accounts. so how does a game that isnt even F2P still have an absurd level of cheaters? simple, its called poor anti-cheat and lack of aggression (ubisoft rarely do these big ban waves) cheaters will always be present in any game regardless of it being B2P or F2P. CSGO even before going F2P had a cheater problem and that was still using VAC bans which are IP and hardware based bans but that still did not stop them getting through, even the prime MM system was circumvented using "spoofing" for the numbers to create "prime accounts". cheaters will always find a way, but blaming it on F2P when its really just bungie being lazy is imo just stupid from many people who think "wall of F2P accounts from trials" Cheaters in trials is not a F2P issue but an issue by bungie, that being no aggressive anti-cheat, no time lock outs. heck a simple triumph that states - "play 50hours of D2" could literally be a requirement for trials...... people who think F2P players are the problem need to remember before trials "cheaters were not that all that common, you might have seen them in recluse lobbies for paid carries" but thats really it, cheaters only came about when trials dropped. why? because there was an incentive for cheaters to cheat and its called "exclusive loot" seriously F2P are potential players that can add revenue to the game, locking them out of even more content just means overall less players over time because with less content to play and experience means less opportunities to get "hooked into buying the content" sorry but you lot need to back the -blam!- off blaming F2P accounts for the cheating problem, blame bungie.

Banning f2p players will drastically reduce the # if cheaters but cheating will still be a huge problem. There is literally no fix other than legally shutting down every single cheat/mod company while at the same time implementing a somewhat decent anti-cheat system. Hopefully that happens someday and developers also target console mod device manufacturers such as cronus/titan as well.

      • You can never stop all cheating. But you can make the consequences of getting caught more expensive.

        • The game used to be pay to play for 6 years. It is supposed to be a taste to see if they like it, I agree with him

          • Even if there was an Aggressive Anti-Cheat, F2P allows cheaters to make 20+ Burn Accounts to Poke at the Anti-Cheat. Which the Cheaters have not paid for since they aren't losing money due to F2P. Trials,IB, and Comp(50-50) should have a F2P Lock. Since they offer Exclusive Rewards. If cheaters have to then pay to gain access, let's say to enter into Trials it requires a Purchase of the Current Season, that's 10$ USD, plus 20 Burn Accounts thats 200$ USD, and when they poke around and try the cheats, they then lose money due to Permanently Banning the Account. So this then(by Theory) should lower the Cheating. If you look at other MMO's that have a F2P, they have Locks on what Paid Subscribers get acsses to and what F2P have access to. The Good stuff Requires you to Subscribe. In SWTOR, to get HK51(He's Amazing), you need to be Subscribed. To get Certain Strongholds, Skins, ect Requires Subscription. Destiny has somewhat of a Subscription which is the Deluxe or the Collecter's which you prepay for a whole year to get Exclusive Items. F2P causes the Cheating population of any game to grow as if the Cheaters aren't Required to pay into (Example- Trials, which contains Exclusive Loot) they then Destroy any chance for real players to gain the Rewards. What Bungie needs to do is: 1. Strong Anti-Cheat 2. Trials, and IB to be for Paid Players Only That's my view.
