How Bad Can RNG Be?!
Just needed 1 of ANY armor piece, 3 +1 pinnacles... all weapons. Clan engrams... weapons. Master Hunt... weapon. Nightfall... fking weapon. Raid... 3 weapons and finally 1 armor piece. Seriously someone needs to smack that loot algorithm into sense before I take a magnet to it.

The same thing is about to happen with IB. Every IB I get multiple power weapon drops.

If RNG existed even in the slightest, this wouldn't be an issue. True RNG would mean getting 8-10 of the exact same item in a row would be the EXTREME OUTLIER, not the normal occurance for thousands of players every single week. Ergo, because this is never addressed, the rigged rewards must be assumed to be intentional and not a bug.

Ugh, I know. I ran Last Wish my first three times, praying for an armor drop. All I got was a hand cannon and two of some gun called a thousand voices. F my life 😔 -
Rng kept giving me slideways on the new raid sniper. I never slide with snipers so its irrelevant. I however got killing wind and snap shots atleast so thats cool.

Been thru the raid 6-8 times and got shotgun at least 10 time's. Got arms at least 6 times. 1 MG, 1 Helmet, 1 Bond, and 3 swords. Not one HC or sniper and have only seen 1 guy get eyes of tomorrow. Pathetic rng it's a waste of time to even run the raid unless you need primary or gauntlets.

In D1 a friend of mine got the nickname Truth... This was due to a run of weeks where every Nightfall he did (3 a week once with each character) he nearly always got the Truth rocket launcher. In the end he got around 10 Truths in 4 weeks.

6 Raid Clears No Scout, Hand Cannon, Helmet, Legs, Class Item, Exo. All Drops in the same 3 Slots -> no progress at all All weekly drops in the same 3 Slots as the Raid -> no progress at all i just quit leveling, i hate RNG and everyone who likes RNG is a bad person in real life. fvck this game, i only log in for the raid from now on.

Do you long for the times when the Cryptarch would look at you with that smile and say "Hello Guardian" and hand you an Edge Transit? I sure do! Any time this comes up I think back to near the end of D1 when Bungie reprogrammed the loot algorithm to drop specifically what the player needed to increase their lowest light slot. That they were capable of doing that then I have to be skeptical regarding any claims of "random" loot, especially in the gaming industry which uses pseudo-rng to begin with. No this is a specifically designed loot grind, and if they didn't want players to get repeat drops that block progression it wouldn't be happening.

I run 3 guys and generally one of the 3 will get screwed each week from drops, this week it was my titan who got 3 helmet pinnacle drops. Luckily all my guys are the same level and so if my other two end up getting what they need it ends up working out for all 3 eventually Side note My titan has the full raid armor set while both my lock and hunter have 2 pieces each and I’ve run them all the same amount of times I’m not in a hurry to complete the sets tho, so I’m not really pissed about it.

SSDS Same S... Different Season. The Random drop issue has been reported to Bungie multiple times in the past season. The Randomizer is A) Crap B) Not working correctly C) working as intended Since it has not been "fixed" since years I am pretty sure it is working as intended (making us farm/play even longer). At least we now got the Hunts by The Crow which reward 4 weekly drops on the current itemlevel on a choosen slot.

well today so far titan = 3 pinnacles 3 helmets at 1251 looks like my season is over pinnacle grind is a waste of time thank god cyberpunk will be here next week

Your in a subset Where you are not a streamers/silver buying customer. Your RNG will be rigged and your power grind will be extended till the 3/4 of the season. If you start mid of the season this will reduce to 1/2 . It is my experience from last 4 seasons. This is same for exotic as well. They used to call as bad RNG. They have played this game very little.

26 RepliesIt’s not pure RNG. Every loot table in the game has weighted outcomes. I hate when people say, “RNG, bro” No, it’s not completely random. Bungie tries to manipulate the outcomes and it always leads to endless dupes and a terrible leveling experience.

Bungle should add an M to RNG (MRNG). Because something is said to be random does that also mean it cannot be MANIPULATED. I have been brought straight back into my mindset from last season when i received 4 orewings maul as my pinnacles from Iron banner (on 1 character). Today received my 5th kinetic weapon from the plus 2 pinnacles(across 2 characters). I had to vent last season and got so many replies of 'it's just bad luck'. Anyone who has played this for any length of time surely cannot still be that naive. I still enjoy this game but can't help feeling that Bungle are trying to chase people away, I for 1 am so close to calling it quits. The algorithm is not broken it's being manipulated

Easily one of the worst "RNG" designs of any game. It is always biased against the player and there is zero reason for that except maybe sadism.

Ugh. I just made a post like this a few hours ago. I’m in the opposite boat. 13 of my 14 pinnacles this week (across all 3 characters) so far have been armor. I have calculated before that I get armor 80-85% of the time with powerful or pinnacle drops. It is f’n ridiculous! This has always been like this for my guys. Bungie definitely has hidden numbers in their RNG that weighs everyone’s drops. You can’t convince me they don’t.
