<... and you hit a part that isn't the sphere/core in the middle. Does the Ghost feel pain? Is it effectively injured? Does it just get disoriented from the initial shot? I realize that if you stab a Ghost in the eye, you'll kill it. I assume this is due to the core housing the orb of Light that a Ghost actually is. I'm just curious how close you could get to the core without actually harming that orb of Light.
Not only that, but I believe this information is necessary in understanding the Traveler, the Pyramids, and possibly the Winnower itself if it takes up a vessel or shell of some kind.
EDIT - guys I'm just trying to gauge whether the Traveler was actually hurt during the Red War and if the broken shell actually matters in its recovery.>

Ghosts do feel pain, as observed on a strike when helping Failsafe recover some of the ship. Their electrical sensors may fry, which does hurt. However, an ant falling from a cliff and a person are two different levels of pain. You could throw a ghost off the courtyard at the tower and I think it'd still be fine, relatively. Its lightweight design and structured frame let it experience physical damage in a different way.
