Suggestions for decent colored art pencils?

I’ve been mainly drawing with graphite pencils, and am pretty inexperienced in drawing with colored pencils. I want to get some more practice in, but I don’t know exactly what to look for if I need to buy a new set. I need 12-24 pencils, and can’t buy anything very expensive at the moment. I do currently have a set of Prismacolor Premier pencils. Are they a good set to at least start out with, or should I find something else?

  • They are African American pencils!

  • I’m a crayons guy myself. As in when I try to draw anything I’d be more productive eating them than actually drawing anything.

    • I messaged an artist friend of mine and she says those are fine if you’re not willing to get a much nicer set. I’d say you’re all set. *runs off*
Sorry, all out of salt.
• The Prismacolor Premiers are perfectly fine imo. I've heard that Faber Castel Polychromos pencils are really good, but they can be a little expensive.

        • Ok, quick little life hack, you only need like three things: some regular old, worn-down pencils (it can't be sharp), your trusty old a mortar and pestle, and then you go to the fridge and grab whatever berries there are in the fridge. Crush up the berries to a nice, fine pulp and then coat your pencils each with the seperate colors. Of course, cherry and bluberries are staples for a nice, rich, deep red and purple, but you might have trouble finding yellow (Its fine though, nobody cares about yellow). This is actually what the ancient cave people started out on and look what they did: https://imgur.com/a/OcF8E4F Absolutely exquisite.

          • I read online that what you’ve got is pretty good for beginners, but I’m not really an artist so I wouldn’t know.

          • I’d suggest using Crayola colored pencils. They are pretty good.
