I just requested a refund for Beyond Light. I'm done.
SoH broke me. Forced PVP? No ornaments from last years SoH armor? I am so tired of not being able to play this game the way I want with the gear and weapons I want, and this was the straw that broke me. I just want to be able to equip the gear I like, the weapon I want, and play without being instantly nerfed as a result. Doing dailies is painful, as I have to use weapons and sub classes I dont like. Farming upgrade mats is painful as I now know you will nerf my gear at a whim later on and waste my time invested in master working them. Same with weapons. Whats the point of playing a game when I have to play YOUR way and not mine? Why should I keep paying you to tell me to stop having fun and use the gear and weapons you want?
I logged in yesterday, managed to grind out the blue gear requirements, and.... I just cant anymore. Its not fun. It feels like a second job. A responsibility or an obligation. Not something fun to do with friends or clanmates. Nobody I talked to is happy with this game, they just endure it, like an achy back or sliver in their finger, hoping it gets better. I am done hoping man. I'm just done.
I dont expect a warm welcome here, I just hope that some dev reads this, sees the real world consequence of poor game design and passes it along to somebody in charge. I feel like the abused wife of a relationship. Bungie keeps doing things that make me not like their game while saying how much they 'listen' the whole time. How much they 'hear' me and want me to be happy and know they care. Its clear you dont and never will. It should not be this hard to play a looter shooter. I quit WOW when it stopped being fun. I quit Overwatch when it stopped being fun. Now I quit Destiny when it stopped being fun.
This guardians eyes are down, permanently.

Let that sink in..... i chose COD over Destiny, thats how bad Destiny got. Now i come to the forums to see what burning or if them smartened up. They havent yet by the looks of it.

You people don't know grind until you grind for just 1 out of 3 pieces needed for an infinite potion in Black Desert. When you PEN roulette all your gear then come crying about grinding isn't fun lmao -

While I disagree with some of your reasons, I definitely understand. There are lots of things in this game that feel like a chore. Sometimes it does feel like a second job almost. That said, I have been grinding my butt off (as much as I can working 50-80hrs/wk) and I am starting to feel a little burn out, but there are mamy things I still need to do in game (read: want to get). I have, somehow, had more fun this season than in many past seasons/periods. I remember most of D1 being better than Arrivals, as well as Forsaken and Opulence, but I'm loving the lore and just somehow having fun. Always sad to see someone driven away from Destiny, but the game [i]is[/i] free to play, and will (most likely) be here if you want to come back to it

42 RepliesGoodbye and Good luck. Not every game is for everyone. Some people loved Jedi: Falken Order. I got bored and frustrated with the clunky movement controls after about an hour and never looked back. Loot games are for people who want a long term relationship with a game and enjoy grinding familiar content. So most loot gamers have low-need-for novelty personalities ( I can eat the same thing for breakfast each day for weeks before it starts to bug me). But many shooter gamers have a high need for novelty. They get bored and frustrated with repetitive tasks and a lack of newness. Nothing wrong with that. Until you try to force yourself to do something that is repetitive [i]by design, [/i] and is intended for people who enjoy that repetitiveness. So while I believe you when you say that the grind isn’t fun for you, understand that there are people out there (like me) who do enjoy it.

I feel your pain Bro, such a great, or could have been, game. To much repetition, It is worse now then ever before. I did exactly the same last month. when it was given out to xbox pass. (equivalent of playstation now) which i use. Its deffos the boring grind and the recycled weapons and activitys we keep getting. I was sad when sunsetting was announced, but then they are just giving us back the same weapons again to create a 'gameplay loop' i think would be the term. Its like buying a can of coke only to realise it was empty and you need to pay to fill it up!

Breaks are good man. This game is not fun 365 days a year. I felt pretty fed up last season, but this season really was a breath of fresh air. The dungeon was great, and the targeted loot farm let me play what ever activities I wanted and get the same loot. But its just a season, eventually they run out of steam after 4-6 weeks. Then its a good time to step away and enjoy other things.

Lots of people get upset by these posts and then feel they need to comment or defend or whatever. My question is, what does it matter? Are you worried the end result will be from these posts? Watered down forum posts where it’s hard to find the ones you want to read? Bungie changing things? People having a different opinion? Trolling for kicks? Other? I mean, have at it. But if you’re getting worked up over an “I quit” post, you might be suffering from forum burnout and need to take some time off.

It seems that you're experiencing a burn out, which is nothing new among Destiny players. Many have left this game for the same reasons as yours. The moment when you realize that a game is no more fun and seems to be a sort of obbligation, that's the drop that makes it falls. You're doing the right thing to leave and I'm not writing this to drive you away. I really believe that when things like this happen, a break [i](definitely or not)[/i] is needed. I hope the best for you. May you find another game that will bring you fun and good experiences with friends and mates.

Sorry to break it to ya but not everygame let’s you play only the parts you like and ...... wait a second they do you can play only the parts you like and use what you want exclusively. Just don’t expect to be rewarded as much as those who do play all parts of the game. It’s very simple. For example if I hate raids i don’t complain about not having 1k voices or tarrabah because I can’t get EVERYTHING by only playing the modes I like. That is a poor mentality and one that will never be met. Also you can use whatever gear you want if you only want to use bows and sidearms you can, BUT don’t expect to be able to do every quest and all content.
