I just requested a refund for Beyond Light. I'm done.
SoH broke me. Forced PVP? No ornaments from last years SoH armor? I am so tired of not being able to play this game the way I want with the gear and weapons I want, and this was the straw that broke me. I just want to be able to equip the gear I like, the weapon I want, and play without being instantly nerfed as a result. Doing dailies is painful, as I have to use weapons and sub classes I dont like. Farming upgrade mats is painful as I now know you will nerf my gear at a whim later on and waste my time invested in master working them. Same with weapons. Whats the point of playing a game when I have to play YOUR way and not mine? Why should I keep paying you to tell me to stop having fun and use the gear and weapons you want?
I logged in yesterday, managed to grind out the blue gear requirements, and.... I just cant anymore. Its not fun. It feels like a second job. A responsibility or an obligation. Not something fun to do with friends or clanmates. Nobody I talked to is happy with this game, they just endure it, like an achy back or sliver in their finger, hoping it gets better. I am done hoping man. I'm just done.
I dont expect a warm welcome here, I just hope that some dev reads this, sees the real world consequence of poor game design and passes it along to somebody in charge. I feel like the abused wife of a relationship. Bungie keeps doing things that make me not like their game while saying how much they 'listen' the whole time. How much they 'hear' me and want me to be happy and know they care. Its clear you dont and never will. It should not be this hard to play a looter shooter. I quit WOW when it stopped being fun. I quit Overwatch when it stopped being fun. Now I quit Destiny when it stopped being fun.
This guardians eyes are down, permanently.

I find it hard to believe you decided an entire expansion with a new destination, campaign, and darkness subclasses is not worth it because you don't like the grind for an armor set that gives you nothing except the actual armor set. Thats like quitting Destiny because you don't like the grind for planetary armor.

Take a break from the game. The last two seasons killed my desire to play. I haven't touched PvE since the end of June. Maybe a long break will do some of us some good.

Much better game then Destiny. -blam!- Destiny.

I completely understand, take a few months off and reevaluate. If everything about the next expansion looks good at release or week of then go for it. I just started playing this week, been off since may. Probably going to get bored in a month and will check out expansion. No one game deserves your full attention. Enjoy some of the other great games out there Warzone/Plunder for PVP and any other game for PVE, Division 2 PVE is alright, fun missions/raids, Diablo 3 was new to me, Path of Exile is free and pretty fun but complicated. There's plenty to keep you busy.

You can take a break and you don't need to play soltice. Solsticr us here for people that aren't burnt out on destiny right now which would be new light players and just players that are in it for the long haul like myself. The past few weeks I've been playing other games and only logged in for the means to an end quest. Now that solstice is here I cN play this for some cool ornaments and another title.

I spent my money on Planetside 2 because all of the gear I earn and or buy, I keep, forever. (AND I CAN USE IT WHENEVER.) People cry there too, but the worst you have to worry about is a short-lived nerf to make the whiners shut up. Once they learn how to deal with whatever, by dealing with it at reduced damage, they turn the damage right back up, and they are none the wiser. None of this out-dating weapons and armor. I got my Guardians they way I want them. I will enjoy them until they are too weak to do anything, and then I am moving on as well if they stay on this path. I will come back every so often for Crucible or a fun-run Strike, but lets face it, Planetside is ALL PvP. Anthem? All stage. So that will be rare. (Hugs to comfort) I am sorry they are doing this to us too....

1 ReplyYeah I gave Destiny a break and played something else and then I came back. You should try that. Marvel Avengers is pretty good. I would recommend pre-ordering it and play the beta.

Destiny is not just pve, if you play it like it is- that is your choice but Bungie makes the game and many enjoy pvp more than pve because pve is finished within 3 weeks maximum of any seasonal launch. 3. You want the devs to read 'forced pvp' and suddenly change the franchise fundamentally because you have played too much? C'mon man. I hate nightmare hunts and dungeons, I have run them a billion times but i'm not writing slabs of text exiting the game over 'forced' pve. 4. 99.9% of the SoH is pve yet 7 single wins in pvp across 4 months for a cosmetic leg piece is bad game design? Nah. Quitting a game because you dont wish to partake in intrinsic modes to the franchise over optional cosmetics is your choice, not bungies.
