Forced pvp?
1. Its optional.
2. Pvp exists in the game and has done for 5 years+. Pvp is Destiny as much as pve. Destiny is not just pve, if you play it like it is- that is your choice but Bungie makes the game and many enjoy pvp more than pve because pve is finished within 3 weeks maximum of any seasonal launch.
3. You want the devs to read 'forced pvp' and suddenly change the franchise fundamentally because you have played too much? C'mon man. I hate nightmare hunts and dungeons, I have run them a billion times but i'm not writing slabs of text exiting the game over 'forced' pve.
4. 99.9% of the SoH is pve yet 7 single wins in pvp across 4 months for a cosmetic leg piece is bad game design?
Nah.
Quitting a game because you dont wish to partake in intrinsic modes to the franchise over optional cosmetics is your choice, not bungies.

Literally everything in the game is optional, the game itself is optional. If you really don't like something then go. I seriously don't understand the way people think on these forums to be honest, its really painful

Well it IS a free event that was semi-worked on during quarantine and a carbon copy of last year. The point is, you as a player are not obligated to do anything. Nothing is forced, no one has a gun to their head threatening them to complete the armour set. If you don't like it, simply don't participate, there is plenty of other stuff to do.

It's fine. I dont mind the event solely because the grind isnt actually bad at all and theres a couple of cool looking items over at eververse like the ship

Honestly, 5 years ago when I started playing destiny I never thought I'd see the community fall to these lows. In may just be human nature in general but... damn. Like what on earth is with people who dislike pvp and wont play it...and because they dislike it, NO rewards should come from it. Pvp is part of the game. Its hilarious, where did these notions originate?! Why does everything have to be devalued to a point whereby no effort or skill is required and everybody is equal? It is just a game, some people are better than others, just like life. I prefer the old destiny where skill meant something tbh and people didnt write floods of text because they didnt like something

There are people really complaining about the 25 guardian defeats requirement. It’s 5 kills per game. It’s really not that hard.

Especially if you just play the Momentum Control Gamemode you get kills and killed easily. It's not that hard really.

It really isn’t. The whole point of Solstice and MoT is to have you play all aspects of the game, whether you like it or not. There’s many people who despise Gambit and PvPers who hate Raids. Yet, almost every post is a PvE player upset about going into Crucible for just a FEW games. You barely see PvP players make posts complaining about making 5-6 raid triumphs for the MoT title. I’ll somewhat side with them on the Trials requirement. Although I don’t think it’s too bad, I get where people could be upset about it.

Grinding kills in PvP is never an issue for me, and I’m a PVE guy. Might take me longer, but PVP objectives that can be chipped away by just myself are fine. I don’t like the Trials wins requirement though... that’s no longer an individual objective. Gambit is a long game mode, so having to do 10 matches feels daunting, even for me. That should have been 4, same as a Pinnacle drop.

Yeah, I get where people are coming from with the Trials requirement. I think complaining about 25 guardian defeats is a but ridiculous, imo. Gambit is annoying. This is the first time I’ve ever actually done Solstice and I only went for the ornaments. All the objectives just to get some armor that has iffy stat rolls isn’t worth it for me.

I agree, getting 25 guardian kills in PvP is a piece of cake. I grinded through that and the Witherhoard catalyst objective where you needed 100 Guardian Defeats. Plus the 5 crucible matches. Wasn’t the worst experience. I think the reason most PVE guys dislike PvP has to do with the temperament of the game mode itself. There is no chill in PVP, it’s relentless and unforgiving, and I think that players who prefer PVE are looking for a more chill experience.

Yeah, I can see that. There needs to be some major QoL changes to PvP. Everyone gets heated about CBMM vs SBMM, but I don’t even think there is CBMM because I consistently match with people from France/Spain. The experience is very hit/miss.

I could argue that SBMM doesn’t solve everything though. SBMM turns every game into a sweat fest.

Yeah, Gambit is pretty awful with the amount of heavy/invasions. It needs to be re-worked. I just went for the ornaments and that’s it.
