Malfeasance needs some type of buff

So, I started using the Malfeasance again the other day and having fun because I’ve always loved the weapon. It’s aesthetically pleasing and it does have a fun perk to it. However, outside of gambit it is relatively meh. Hell its not even high tier in Gambit where you have to get the weapon. I know it’s a Gambit weapon, but many weapons are labeled a “specific activity” weapon but are more useful in other activities. When I say buff I’m not talking about the catalyst that is already in the system but not released yet; I’m talking about a buff to the primary stats it has. I’ve been going through in my mind what a buff could be without it being overpowered or underwhelming. Here are some thoughts: [b]•[/b]maybe increasing range by 25% since the base damage isn’t what makes it good. [b]•[/b]the majority will probably just say buff the damage so that’s an idea. I’m thinking a 10-15% damage buff would suffice. [b]•[/b]this last one is a little out there, but raise the RPM up from 180. Basically give it its own type of frame as a hand cannon. Since you want the perk about the 5 explosions so raise the RPM so you get them out faster. The damage will have to be slightly decreased for this to work though. Just some idea that would love for feedback from the player base. It’s a fun weapon that I think a lot of people would enjoy to use in other activities! EDIT: For those saying “it did get buffed just have someone use Witherhoard and it increases damage”, that is not a buff. That is the equivalent of saying Thunderlord was buffed because someone is using divinity on the boss.

    • So I was thinking about this since I last commented. What if the catalyst made it so precision shots cout more towards the explosion. So if you got 3 headshots 1 body it would explode.

    • If it were to get a stat bump id say reload speed or handling would be the best option, its stability is fine and range is a non factor seeing as though hitting 5 shots on someone can usually kill them from any range.

    • Are you talking PvP or PvE? It's been over a year and a half since I can even remember using Malfeasance, maybe longer, and I know it was seriously underwhelming in PvE, and just another 180 in PvP. My opinion is that the 180 archetype was never meant for PvE because they've always felt like low damage garbage (to me). I think no matter what Bungie did to Malfeasance it would make it an anomaly in PvP and probably be OP to the point of pre nerf Lunas/Not Forgotten type of frustration. I don't know. I'm going off my very bad memory, so take it with a grain of salt.

      • I would'nt even consider the Witherhoard thing a buff for one other reason. That doesn't sound like it's intentional, but Malfeasance is so underused that it's probably on the bucket list of fixes they'll make.

      • The catalyst could be a large increase of damage against taken, even more than it currently is. Just a thought, it’d be very useful without being broken

          • After Explosive Shadow stacks and the rounds detonate it should make the target more vulnerable to damage. The catalyst should be like the original Rapid Hit.

          • Yeah I cant put down malfeseance either. The catalyst in opinion should: -buff the exploding damage of the slugs when they stack. I think it should still be 5 rounds but just give them a little more damage. - a little more range or aim assistance would also help.

            • Really just needs a catalyst. As we've seen with Trinity Ghoul, a good catalyst can take a weapon from bad to great.

              One of its biggest downfalls is that it's a 180 Handcannon and they've need help in pve/pvp for a long time. Malfeasance is a very fun gun as I too recently started toying with it again (going through my vault for trash) and it pairs very well with the Charged with Light Handcannon damage build. I feel 180s were just Bungies way of bridging between a Handcannon and a sidearm but I feel it failed so they should just convert all 180s to 150s or something. They have the slowest ttk in PvP without dmg boosting perks and outside of console, most people hate the recoil pattern they have anyway. Or if they must keep it 180, I'd rather the darts explode at 4 shots instead of five. Might be a bit cheesy in PvP to get a 1 second ttk from body shots but come on.. it's a 1 second ttk when the meta is based around guns with 0.0 to a 0.7 ttk

            • It most definitely needs a range buff, it also needs to activate its exotic perk faster. Make it 3 head 1 body and the perk will activate, 5 rounds to activate the perk is terrible

              • i would love to see them turn it into a special weapon like eriana's vow, but instead having unstoppable rounds, and adding a little something more to the explosions in terms of AOE. but i dont know if it would work. just something interesting i was thinking about

                • they should move the light frame buff from 150 to 180, it would also make more sence. And in general they need to rework HC. 110s 1hs 2 bs, 140s 2 hs 1 bs, 150s 3 hs and 180 2hs and 2 bs.

                  It’s a 180, all i would like to see is a handling buff as that what lacks the most in the archetype. It just feels alot better on Warlock and Ophidian Aspects than it does on Titan and Hunter where it’s clunky handling is kind of noticeable. Maybe give it Quickdraw. I can live with the range since it’s rounds have its own perk.
