No, this Iron Banner did not attract a record PvP population

I rarely post here and was just checking in because of repeated weasel errors on PS4. Anyway, I see a bunch of people repeating the line that PvP numbers are at record highs for this last Iron Banner. I’m here to tell you that isn’t true. In fact the numbers were lower than in the first Iron Banner of Warmind, I’m sure probably others have been even higher, that was just the first one I checked, thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/hl1ebi/contrary_to_that_post_you_all_liked_pvp/ Basically, Crucible tryhards who are desperate to keep matchmaking changes because it gives them easier games are willing to make up any old bullshit to argue in its favour. I think says a lot, like they know that probably most people will hate this and they’re trying to negate that with a totally made up “fact”. The posts I saw this morning were people basically apologising for their opinion like “I know this was the most popular Iron Banner ever but I found it totally unenjoyable”. Edit: crucible population yesterday was back around 350k and 11% of active players, but yes definitely everyone loves crucible now because CBMM, that’s just facts and logic.

Some facts for our PvP Overlords they do not like to hear: a) Only margin groups had connection issues in SBMM. Average players are the biggest pool of players, so they never had lag/queue time issues because of SBMM b) High end players are now dipping into this big pool of average players with CBMM and now have the same connection quality/queue times average players always had c) High end players clearly now have a better Crucible experience than before d) Average players have it worse, as their connection/queue times did not get better, but they have suddenly statistical outliers in their Lobbies that make more frags than the rest of their team combined e) As high end players are a minority (Bell Curves anyone?) and they are the only ones benefiting from CBMM, I wonder, where are all the new players in Crucible coming from? Or why should average players, who did not benefit in anyway from the new CBMM, now flock in greater numbers into Crucible? Maybe first IB in season and actually 2 new weapons after a very long time? These are all just simple facts.
