For 2 weeks now I have not been able to sign into destiny and do any activity. I can go to the moon sometimes but not run any strikes, quest or adventure. I get kicked right back to watercress error. I jumped on my son's account the same Xbox and no errors at all. He can go anywhere do anything. But when I try on my of my three characters I get kicked out or its the game locks up and then I get kicked out. Again my son's account no problem doing anything.
I've msg destiny support and I tweeted the gm and no response. Any game of this size would have a database that would need to have an integrity check but if they don't have downtime how can they do that check?
I'm going to delete my titan as its the one I use the least and see if that resolves the error. I've read on other forums that is the action that allows them to start playing. It should not have to come to the community to do the troubleshooting they should have a QA dept for this or perhaps that person quit and it never got filled. Or the person is refused downtime and when this happens he/she gets the blame and its a no win because no one likes downtimes. I work in an enterprise datacenter and I've seen this before not in games but in application database issues.
I'll update this for what I find.

I was at my neighbor's house (PS4) and I tried to sign in and its watercress error. He then signed into his account and said man that sucks. Did you delete your characters for troubleshooting? Yes, I did and it's not that big of a deal. I still have my armor and weapons and my RHG was total crap forever so perhaps this will help me out. I don't know if my videos to Bungie via twitter helped or my tweets to GM. Or my suggestion of the players coming together in a class-action suit for them pay attention. But I'm glad they are looking into it.
Don't delete your Titans, Warlocks or Hunters unless you want to start over. Doing so won't allow you to login.
Someone had to be first and I'm not a hardcore player as I once was but if your on Xbox friend me up.

I have had the same issue for roughly 2 weeks... I am losing my patience and faith with bungie at this point as we are all falling behind with power levels and content. Especially when they are limited timed events. I get they are essentially "investigating in the blind" But look at the twabs and twitter. No mention of it. Only stuff mentioned is stuff that could easily wait for a bit.
