Watercress Error after selecting character

On the XBOX last night, sometime just after 9pm EST, after running a number of seraph towers on the moon, my fireteam and I (total of 3 members) were leaving the moon and heading to the tower. In transit, we just encounter a blackscreen. After a minute, I quit the destiny 2 app and restarted. After loading, i selected my character and just sat at a black screen. After a minute, i quit the game and tried again, this time letting it sit. Several minutes later, i got a "watercress" error. I tried to join with different characters. Once, I was able to login as another character. I got to orbit, tried to switch to the first character. Now, attempts to log in to any character all fail with "watercress". i attempted to restart the xbox. I also cleared the xbox cache. Overnight, I also reset the network router. All to no avail. As a potential diagnostic datapoint, while flying away from the moon, i was moving a couple of items from the postmaster to my character, using the DIM. I've done that before without issue, but mention it hear as some coincidental activity on my account. I have been able to successfully log in to the same characters on the PC. I wanted to provide this report, so the destiny engineering team could use it for potential diagnostics. I am currently in the process of uninstalling and reinstalling destiny on the xbox, to see if something could have corrupted on one of the files. I'll update this with those results when that completes. UPDATE Pulling my comment up into the main post: Uninstalling and reinstalling has not changed anything. Still have the same error. UPDATE 2 Just to confirm reports from other messages as well, i was able to create a new XBOX account, and log on and start characters anew. unfortunately, that means all my progress, weapons/armor, triumphs are lost. It also fundamentally disconnects me from playing with my main raid groups until i can get up in levels, and from using the more effective weapons earned through the numerous paths of earning those weapons, until i grind them out again. It also means that i have to re-purchase the season pass, etc, to optimize my progress. I had thought about breaking the cross-save, and then re-establishing it to the new xbox account. But I've seen reference to the fact that when you disable cross-save, you're locked out of cross-save for 90 days. I wonder if Bungie could waive that in these cases?
