If you try to play on Steam or PS using the same cross-save account, are you still able to play normally? Edit - Ignore. Missed the line in your OP where you stated as much.

  • Hey Bryan, thought I'd jump in to help you understand that it's not a console issue. People have had friends log into their accounts on the same platform and it works just fine. Whatever this is... Is unusual to say the least

I'm not suggesting it's a console issue. Edit - And it is definitely something unusual, to say the least. I think we actually spoke on this yesterday.

  • We did, it's definitely a weird issue due to the fact that it's not effecting others on the same console on a different profile

  • Things I've taken note of: XB users receive the error only on a single account. That account doesn't work in not only different housholds, but different regions of the world(I've seen a post where the user mentioed they had a friend in the UK try their account there and vice-versa). Those users had issue with the one account, but not the other. Now we add in cross-save. Use that same account through cross-save on another platform and it is not affected. These things tell me that it is not a console specific issue. They also point to it not being an account specific issue(if that were the case, cross-save would see the same thing). It also kind of points to it not being a Bungie specific issue, but not an MS specific issue either. It's a really strange scenario.

I posted a few days back on having this issue. One thing I didn't mention is I don't have cross save enabled. My issues didn't begin until xbox live went down on i believe the 13th. So could be on both ends not getting a firm "handshake" on my account.

  •
So could be on both ends not getting a firm "handshake" on my account.
This is kind of what I suspect. Possibly a combo of a hiccup from Bungie's end, as well as maybe MS made a tweak to their network infrastructure that just doesn't agree with the way Destiny's networking is set up. As I've said on other posts about this though, I am most definitely not a networking expert.

  • He answered that question in his OP.
I have been able to successfully log in to the same characters on the PC.
