So this is the 'Vision' then?

6 months ago 'Shadowkeep and Undying are going to be showing the true vision of an independent Bungee' 6 months later that vision seems to boil down to.... Very poorly implemented game systems (yes, I'm looking at you armor 2.0) that much of the community agrees is fundamentally flawed and actually worse than the previous system in many ways. Double down on cosmetics with more items than ever in the store and at higher prices Same old bugs - seriously, how many times now has Xur been bugged? 5? 6? How many times has telesto broken the game? How many times have FPS issues been present? Uninspired content - Vex offensive, more boring than previous content and more grindy Lame exotics - Xenophage and Leviathan. Novelty points for about 2 kills then you realise you're better off with pretty much any other weapon Lack of loot in end game activities. Nightfalls have no unique loot but apparently this is becuase 'sparrows and ghosts were less desired as rewards by the community'. You know what the community finds even less desirable....no loot at all! Overhyped events added to the roadmap that actually equate to a reskinned boss in an already boring activity. No new mechanics, no new enemies, no new loot, no new story to go with it. I think Bungee needs to have an emergency meeting and radically alter thier 'vision' before it's too late. Even the Steam reviews are tanking. *Edit - Wow, wasn't expecting this to gather so much traction so thank you to anyone who's taken the time to comment/vote. I will note that my original tone when I wrote this perhaps comes across harsher than it was meant to be and that while I've only noted negative things, there are a few good things too. This being said, I personally feel the negative pretty far outwieghs the postive, hence my post. Overall, my point was more referring to the fact that it seems there's just not enough resource being put into the game to make it engaging and for it to live up the potential that we can see it has. As a result, we are left with the issues noted above (among others). Bungie were adamant they were now free to now make the game great but what we've got doesn't feel like it's moving in that direction. Moving forward, not only does the content need be better thought out, but there needs to be more of it. You can't be a live service action mmo rpg fps (maybe I missed some more genres they want to be?) without content that keeps players online.

  • Bump. If you are wondering why all these things are the way they are let me enlighten you. The idea is to offer a pass up front to get as much money as possible right away, next is to spend as little as absolutely necessary on the “new” content (this helps maximize profits). Then budget a certain amount for hyping the next product (this is to make all of the pissed-off people who bought the last thing forget why they were mad in the first place so they will buy again). Rinse and repeat. Its worked for five years now and will continue to work because we are stupid. All of the nerfing is done so that no money needs to be spent developing challenging content, saves even more cash! In a sense nerfing and re-skinning actually serve the same purpose.
