My issue with Reckoning is that the activity has no value outside of Gambit Prime.
As a strictly PVE player ( I don't do the Crucible, and I HATE Gambit ) who plays mostly solo, there just wasn't enough incentive to come back to Destiny 2 after Black Armory made me quit. The Vanguard vs Drifter looks interesting, and so do the Xur Bounties. If Reckoning wasn't linked to Gambit Prime, there might have been enough content for me to do, but as things stand, the complete package wasn't enticing enough.
There's also an issue of Quality of Life, the basic progression loop feels very, very broken if your a player like me, and this game needs major Quality of Life improvements if it wants to expand upon its current player base, because right now, only the most hardcore players can play Destiny 2 and get anything out of it.
