No Activision didn’t make the patches or content but they set the time frame and so caused bungie to have to take the drip feed approach. Personally I preferred the better quality large occasional dlc’s with cinematic story, because I don’t want to read lore for hours when I’m playing a game, and as long as they were to do regular maintenance patches and events like festivals, IB and Trials in between then I see no reason why it wouldn’t work. As long the base game has the same fun factor that D1 had. It doesn’t work with D2 because the base game feels hollow somehow and doesn’t have the same replayability level, hence the player base drop off.
No Activision didn’t make the patches or content but they set the time frame and so caused bungie to have to take the drip feed approach.
The time frame was set with Bungie complete agreement when they signed the contract with Activision. There's just no way to excuse Bungie for that one too.

  • Oh I’m not excusing them by any means. I’m just saying that once they’d agreed to the contract they had to keep to the schedule and that meant not enough time to create high quality content and expansions. That’s all I’m saying, of course bungie was at the helm but Activision was the navigation system so to speak

I totally agree with that though Bungie had full creative liberty and should have come with something much better for the season pass, imo.

Definitely. But they were still under Activisions thumb of pressure when they drew up the plans for season pass. Now they’re just finishing rolling it out as we’ve payed for it. Let’s hope they add some cool stuff to it now they truly own the Destiny IP. They can’t afford for it to flop now, but I have a feeling they’re main efforts will be on whatever Destiny 3 turns out to be.
