Gambit and as extension Reckoning (since theres no reason to do it if you dont play gambit) has pvp elements...that are even worse than straight pvp to a lot of players. Bungie feels like they have to push pvp on a player base than prefers pve because it's easier and cheaper to develop.

They doubled down on a game mode nobody was that jazzed about and added a pve throw in that only matters if you care about prime. Its OK to voice dissenting opinions in spite of how it's always been. That's how things improve.
