Way of the Outlaw: Everything you need to know to become the lone wolf

Way of the Outlaw is path for the Gunslinger that focuses primarily on getting multiple, rapid kills. This guide will only cover abilities unique to the Way of the Outlaw and not normal Hunter abilities like Dodges or Grenades. Let's go over the ability nodes in the order in which they would be unlocked. + Exploding Knife - Throw a Knife that explodes on contact. The hit from the knife deals the same damage as a melee, however the ensuing explosion deals an extra 40% damage. With a direct hit the target obviously takes the full damage from the explosion being at the epicenter. Any other enemy within 2.5m of the explosion also take full damage. From there the damage drops off exponentially up until 6m where it deals no damage whatsoever. The knife doesn't actually have to hit any target for the explosion to damage them, but will likely deal little to no damage as a result. + Chains of Woe - Precision kills increases weapon reload speed for you and nearby allies. This buffs stacks up to three times lasts for 10 seconds. At three stacks continuing to get precision kills will simply reset the timer. If the timer expires before the player gets another precision kill the player will lose all stacks. Allies must be with 12m of the player to gain the buff from them. This buff stacks with all other reload buffs. • With a x1 stack all weapon reload speeds are increased by 1.3x. • With a x2 stack all weapon reload speeds are increased by 1.6x. • With a x3 stack all weapon reload speeds are increased by 2x. + Deadshot - Increases Golden Gun's innate aim assist, thus making it easier to hit moving targets. Not all that interesting, but it does what it says it does. + Six Shooter - Replaces the typical three shot Golden Gun with a six shot version. It however also adds a 15% damage penalty to Golden Gun's base damage, thus lowering the damage per shot. With twice as many shots however it doubles the amount of enemies that can be killed with it and deals 1.7x more total damage than the ordinary three shot version. Fun Facts • Golden Gun uses a different weapon model depending on which ability path you take. Way of the Outlaw more closely resembles Last Word from D1. • This kind of depends on your situation. The six shot can be really nice for groups of normal enemies, the ability to have extra precision damage from the other tree makes far shorter work of bigger bosses especially when using celestial. I kind of wish you could switch between the two abilities on the fly without using your super because they have two kind of distinct uses.
